Here are some tips to help you maintain your home during this cold blast.
Open Cabinets Beneath All Sinks: To prevent pipes from freezing, please open the cabinets beneath all sinks in your home. This will allow warm air to circulate around the pipes and minimize the risk of freezing.
Set Thermostat to a Minimum of 55 Degrees: It is crucial to maintain a consistent indoor temperature during cold spells. Set your thermostat to no less than 55 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure that your home remains adequately heated.
Leave Heat On 24 Hours: Keep your heating system on continuously, especially during extreme cold weather. This will help maintain a stable temperature and prevent freezing issues.
Drip Faucets: To keep water moving through the pipes, allow a small trickle of water to flow from both hot and cold faucets in sinks and shower/tubs. This continuous flow can prevent pipes from freezing.
Safety Precautions: As ice and snow may accumulate on stairs, sidewalks, and roads, please exercise caution when navigating these areas. Use designated walkways and handrails and be aware of slippery surfaces to avoid accidents.
