All shipping from overseas has just become more expensive and more difficult. This will negatively affect small and medium sized businesses most and because their costs will increase, the prices of the products they make will also have to increase. These fees will be paid by American businesses and consumers.
In addition, the volatility and lack of clarity or lead time with some of these policies make it hard for businesses to plan. When the costs change suddenly or dramatically it can really cause upheaval.
