Cory Johnson Program For Post-Traumatic Healing at RPC Social Impact Center

Cory Johnson Program For Post-Traumatic Healing at RPC Social Impact Center The Cory Johnson Trauma Education Program offers safe space every Thursday night for people to share their stories of trauma, healing, hope and recovery.

Each evening starts with dinner, followed by welcoming remarks by Rev. Liz Walker. Then a saxophone soloist sets the tone, after which one by one people share their stories. Over the course of the evening, artists Wyatt Jackson and Robin Lee also share offerings of dance and song. “The Trauma Program gives you a sense of purpose—you turn what you’ve been through into helping others and that helps you heal. It’s a very good feeling. You can heal by giving back.”

What I will say is that what I’ve learned for myself is that I don’t have to be anybody else and that myself is good enough; and that when I am being true to that self, then I can avail myself to extraordinary things. You have to allow for the impossible to be possible.
