Our Mission:
The Vital Healing Project strives to provide a safe and meaningful environment to share stories and experiences, and to provide a platform to inspire and empower our community to be the best version of themselves. Our Vision:
We hope to foster individual confidence for our participants, and to create knowledgeable and empathetic advocates for mental health and well-being. Our Story:

The Vital Healing Project (VHP) organization was created in 2016. In its inaugural year, this organization operated in Roxbury, Massachusetts, a predominantly Black and Hispanic community. During this time, central goals of the organization were to create a safe space to de-stigmatize mental illness, address cultural and racial biases in mental health diagnosis, and shine light on the issue of "Racial Battle Fatigue." With help from our devoted partners, we offered free activities such as yoga exercises, meditations, and self care instructions. We also offered free mental health resources throughout the Boston community. The Vital Healing Project was ultimately institutionalized as an organization at the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2018, and have continued to fulfill their mission of providing a safe space, particularly for our healthcare community.
