Join us for a fun-filled night of cocktails, dinner and more at the Magic of Hope Gala & Auction on Friday, November 7 at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston! It's a spirited gathering of the local Parkinson's community with many ways to support the APDA MA Chapter in our mission to improve the lives of those living with Parkinson's and fund a cure! Every dollar raised goes to provide the support, education, and research that will help everyone impacted by Parkinson's disease live life to the fullest!

We were honored to table at the 6th Annual Veterans Music Festival on July 19 in Quincy! This powerful and well-attended event featured a Parkinson's Pavilion and tons of resources for the PD community. Huge thanks to the Veterans Voice Network, City of Quincy, and VA Boston Healthcare System for organizing such a meaningful day. Spotlight: Urbanity Dance - 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻'𝘀
💃🏻🕺🏽 Dance with Parkinson’s is a 𝘔𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘔𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘴 class designed for people with PD. Classes keep individuals moving in a fun, welcoming, and safe environment. Urbanity’s instructors will guide students through exercises designed to enhance and maintain mobility, flexibility, balance, posture, coordination, and strength, and all exercises are easily modifiable for various levels of mobility. In this social, creative outlet, participants can discover or rediscover the joy of movement.
Dance with Parkinson’s is free and open to all levels. All are welcome and no previous dance experience is required. Participants may start taking class at any time of the year.

For those living with Parkinson’s disease, communication can become a daily challenge—tremors, stiffness, and speech changes can make it harder to express thoughts and emotions. 💬🤐

That’s why even small tools—like emojis —can help bridge the gap and share what words may struggle to convey. 🤨😆😉

Come join Judi Spencer and The Tremolo Singers for an enthusiastic 50 minutes of vocal exercises and songs that are guaranteed to put a smile on your face, have your toes tapping, and have you singing with gusto!

This program takes place the first 3 Tuesdays of each month via Zoom, 2PM EST.
On the 4th Tuesday of each month, Tremolo Singers meet “in-person” at TimberRidge at Talus in Issaquah, WA, 11:00AM PST. 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱.

Judi Spencer travels internationally leading music vocal and rhythm classes. Judi has been involved with the Parkinson’s community for 25 years as a Music Specialist, a Parkinson’s Advocate and is currently the Music Director for the World Parkinson Congress, WPC.

A special thank you to Revvity for inviting the APDA MA Chapter to table at their seminar held on Thursday, June 26 at LabCentral in Cambridge. The special event featured Dr. Phillip Durham from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill who spoke on the therapeutic delivery across the blood-brain barrier with ultrasound. Our Chapter had the opportunity to connect with attendees, many who are currently conducting research on neurodegenerative diseases including Parkinson's. APDA is committed to scientific research and proudly invests in the most promising clinicians and scientific projects focused on the discovery of the cause(s) and finding the cure(s) for PD.
