One of my favorite questions from yesterday’s Women in Business luncheon was:

“How do you know which opportunities are worth taking the leap on?”

I loved the answers from Katy Higgins with True Pros Heating and Air Conditioning and Tricia Thomason with Social Buzzerfly.

Katy talked about going all in on one idea, becoming really good at it, and building something strong before trying to do a million different things. Honestly, you can see that focus in the success and reputation of her business.

Trish shared how in social media and marketing, trying to do too many things can leave you mediocre at all of them instead of becoming truly excellent in a niche. I loved hearing her talk about focusing deeply on content marketing and helping businesses grow in a meaningful long-term way.

It was such a good reminder that sometimes growth isn’t about adding more… it’s about focusing more intentionally on what you do best.

So many good conversations and wisdom shared today.

Yesterday’s Women in Business luncheon was SO good.

I loved hearing the honest conversations around entrepreneurship, growth, setbacks, resilience, and what it really takes to build something over time.

Kym Buttschardt with Roosters Brewing Co. shared about growing multiple restaurant locations and navigating the ups and downs of the food industry.

Katy Aaron Higgins with True Pros HVAC shared her journey from working as an HVAC technician to building a woman owned HVAC business in a male dominated field while truly prioritizing customer care and service.

Tricia Mulshine Thomason with Social Buzzerfly shared about over 10 years of helping businesses grow through social media and digital marketing while supporting so many amazing local businesses along the way.

All three women were inspiring in completely different ways and it was such a great reminder that success doesn’t usually happen overnight. It comes from continuing to show up, learn, adapt, and grow.

So grateful for spaces where women can connect, encourage each other, and share wisdom from their journeys. And grateful for Davis Chamber of Commerce Utah Women in Business for having these amazing events.

A lot of people are trying to improve consistency, focus, and follow-through
without realizing they’re operating from a dysregulated nervous system

When the body is in a constant state of stress, it shifts into protection mode

That often shows up as:
• Overthinking
• Inconsistent follow-through
• Mental fatigue
• Difficulty staying present

This isn’t a discipline issue
It’s a regulation issue

And most people don’t need more pressure

They need simple, repeatable ways to signal safety to the body

When that happens, clarity and follow-through naturally improve

If you’ve been feeling this lately, I created a simple tool you can use to reset your nervous system in under 5 minutes

You can access it here: https://alyshaashlee.myflodesk.com/tappingforcalm

There’s something powerful about giving yourself space to reset.
In a world that constantly pulls us into doing, thinking, and reacting…

most people don’t realize how much they need a moment to pause, breathe, and come back to themselves.

That’s the work I love bringing into both personal and group experiences…

helping people reset and find calm in the chaos.

✨ If you’re local, my next Zen Night Out is coming up on April 14.
An evening designed for women to slow down, reconnect, and leave feeling grounded and supported.

There’s something powerful about how you start your day.

Not perfectly.
Not with a full routine.
Just intentionally.

Your brain is constantly scanning for what to focus on…
and when you slow down and choose your thoughts, even for a minute, it shifts everything.

This is your reminder today:
You don’t have to rush into your day in stress or overwhelm.

You can pause.
You can breathe.
You can choose how you want to feel.

Save this for later 💜
Come back to it anytime you need a reset.

And if this supported you… I’d love to hear which affirmation you needed most today.

If you lead a team, this 90 second reset can change the tone of a meeting instantly.

When stress builds inside workplaces, most people push through it. But your nervous system doesn’t reset just because you ignore it.

Here’s a simple tool I teach in workplace sessions:

Feet flat on the floor.
Inhale through your nose for 4.
Hold for 4.
Exhale slowly for 6.

Repeat five times.

This lowers stress chemistry, steadies the body, and improves clarity and communication.

Workplace wellness does not have to be complicated to be effective. It just needs to be practical and usable in real time.

If your organization is looking for realistic, approachable wellness support, I would love to start a conversation.

This time of year creates a constant sense of urgency.

There’s a countdown to everything.
Thanksgiving.
Christmas.
New Year’s.

A pressure to connect.
To show up.
To keep traditions going.
To create memories.
Even when you’re exhausted.
Even when you’re stretched thin.

If you have kids, there’s gifts, activities, concerts, schedules, emotions.
There’s still work.
Still home responsibilities.
Still end-of-year things to clean up.
Insurance. Appointments. Loose ends.
Baking. Planning. Coordinating.

It’s a lot.

And then we wonder why we feel overwhelmed, scattered, or on edge.

Here’s the truth most women aren’t told.
You’re not failing at this season.
Your nervous system is overloaded.

When your body stays in urgency mode too long, it can’t keep up.
You shut down.
You burn out.
You feel behind no matter how much you do.

That’s why this season makes calm feel impossible.

The answer isn’t doing more.
It’s slowing your body down enough to feel safe again.

Even small moments of intention matter right now.
A pause.
A breath.
A reset before reacting.
Choosing what actually matters.
Saying yes to what fills you up and no to what drains you.

You cannot do it all.
And you were never meant to.

If you want a gentle way to calm your nervous system in less than five minutes, I created a free tapping guide you can use anytime things feel like too much.

And if you want to understand why your nervous system gets dysregulated and how to support it long-term, my Nervous System Reset walks you through the signs, the why, and the how in a grounded, doable way.

Life will keep happening.
But calm is still available, even in the chaos.

You don’t have to rush your healing.
You don’t have to do more to be worthy.

So many of us are used to tying progress to pressure.
But real, lasting transformation often happens quietly.

🌱 A gentle nervous system tip:
If you’re feeling behind or overwhelmed today, pause and ask yourself
“What is one small thing I’ve already done today that counts?”

Name it. Breathe. Let it be enough.

Quiet progress still counts.
And it’s often the kind that actually lasts.

If this resonates, you’re not alone.
I share simple tools for calming the nervous system, reconnecting to yourself, and creating more ease in everyday life 🤍

So many of us hold our breath when stress hits.
Come back into your body today.
One mindful breath is enough to shift everything.

Here’s a simple tool if you’re feeling overwhelmed:
Pause what you’re doing.
Breathe in for 4…
Hold for 4…
Exhale for 6.

Do this 3 times and notice how your body softens and your mind clears.

You’re allowed to slow down. 💜
