If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis for the first time or are struggling to manage a long term mental health condition, we are here for you.

Our Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) provides a comfortable, supportive alternative to emergency departments and urgent care. Let us help you find stability, services and referrals, and plan for next-day services.

Our BHUC is open Mon-Thur 4-11pm and Fridays from 4-9pm. It is located at Building 6 on our main campus, 19291 Northline Road, Southgate, MI 48195.

No appointment is necessary and we help everyone regardless of insurance or ability to pay.

So real for that!

The Cycle of Abuse
(Photo from Domesticshelters.org)

1. Tensions Build - The abuser creates tension and the survivor's stress builds.

2. The Incident - The abuser lashes out through physical, verbal, psychological, or sexual abuse tactics to dominate the survivor.

3. Reconciliation - The abuser makes excuses or attempts to apologize for the incident. Gaslighting is common, aka. "Nothing happened."

4. Calm - Things seem peaceful, maybe een better than before. But often, this doesn't last long before the cycle starts over.

Note: The Cycle of Abuse was originally created by psychologist Lenore Walker. The Cycle of Abuse does not represent all cases of domestic violence.

Domestic Violence Shelters in the Tri-County Area (Michigan):
Oakland County - HAVEN
Wayne County - First Step, YWCA of Metropolitan Detroit
Macomb County - Turning Point, Inc.
