HAPPY 103rd BIRTHDAY Hazel!
The Waltonwood Royal Oak Senior Living community came together to honor our resident
AD, which is what her friends and family call her. It is short for Adrienne her middle name. AD was born and raised in Royal Oak Michigan. She and her husband Melvin raised their family here as well. AD moved into Waltonwood Royal Oak Senior Living in 2021. AD is active in the community and is well known as the queen of kings in the corner, her favorite card game. As we honor ADs remarkable journey, we are filled with gratitude for the laughter, love and joy she brings into our lives.

In celebration of Read Across America Month, which took place in March, two of our residents, Betty and Susan, read books to 3rd graders at Upton Elementary School. The books they read were "Billy the Kid Makes It Big" by Dolly Parton and "Bored" by Felicita Sala. We also gifted the 3rd graders a bag containing a chapter book, an activity sheet, and a small stuffed animal. It was difficult to determine who enjoyed it more, the children or Betty and Susan.

It was lights, cameras, action for our latest Adventures by Waltonwood for Crystal. Her adventure had a special meaning as she enjoyed a fabulous lunch before watching Wuthering Heights at the theater. She and her husband owned and operated a movie distribution company where she developed a passion for film of all genres. Crystal remembers the large cans of film that had to be transported to all of the theaters. After more than 10 years away from the big screen, Crystal was excited to immerse herself in the experience once again. She enjoyed a red carpet entrance, setting the stage for a wonderful afternoon filled with nostalgia and joy.
