Most of our in-person classes are also taught simultaneously via livestream/virtually. We believe that yoga is for everyone. Yoga is attained by showing up, by practicing, and by moving with your greatest teacher: your own breath. This Sunday join Kyla and Cassie for a Cueing with Confidence Workshop! This isn’t your average “stand at the front and talk” kind of training, it’s a lively, interactive workshop designed to help yoga teachers (brand-new or seasoned pros) find their voice and master the magic of cueing.

We’ve all been there. You finish your 200-hour training ready to teach and then realize that giving clear, concise instructions without constantly demonstrating is harder than it looks. Even if you're a seasoned pro, finding new language or ways to cue can be challenging. That’s where we come in.

Your guides? Kyla Remus, E-RYT 500, whose decades-long reputation for packed, joyful classes speaks for itself, and Cassie Barragan, RYT 200, an educator who blends her teaching expertise with her love for yoga. Together, they bring a perfect balance of experience, creativity, and fun to help you refine your teaching skills.

In this workshop, you’ll:
✨Learn how to give clear, confident cues that land every time.
✨Develop new skills to meet your students where they are
✨Create a safe, inclusive space where all students feel supported.
✨Build your confidence so you can lead classes with ease (and a little flair).

Whether you’re stepping into your very first class or looking to level up your cueing game, you’ll leave with practical tools, a fresh burst of confidence, and maybe even a few new yoga teacher friends.

Come ready to laugh, learn, and cue like a pro. Your students will thank you.

🤨Some people might find it odd that a business would support the economic boycott, but we do. As a small locally-owned owner-operated business, we are doing everything we can to break from big businesses ourselves wherever we can.

🧘🏽 Yoga teaches us about ahimsa, which translates to non-violence or do no harm. Continuing to give money to companies that actively work against those who are buying their goods is an act of violence and harms us all. Exploitation is violence and harms us all.

🙅🏽‍♀️ We no longer use Amazon for supplies, have switched to an owner-operated class management platform, and use a credit union. We’re always looking for ways to support other local small businesses, reduce waste, and work to build a stronger community.

👎🏽 Big box businesses get to negotiate better rates for credit card processing fees, but small businesses do not.

🪧 So, our way of boycotting the continued fees on top of fees that are unavoidable is to offer a ⭐️ 5% cash and in-studio debit card discount ⭐️ on all passes, memberships (if you save a debit card), retail…everything! And yes, you can stack that discount.

Be sure to redirect your dollars locally as often as you can, not just tomorrow. 💜

We are so grateful to be named 2024 Best Yoga Studio in the Detroit Suburbs! We've been named Best of Detroit several times in the past, but this time is so special to us. While Namaste Yoga has been around for over 25 years, Ken & I took over in March 2020. In those almost 4 years, we've survived COVID, a fire (when we lost our previous award plaques) and a move from downtown Royal Oak!

We continue to grow and evolve every year, and we're so thankful to everyone who has come to Namaste and to all of the amazing teachers who deserve so much of the credit for making this happen.

See you on the mat.

With gratitude, Ken & Cassie

If you've ever talked to someone about yoga, it's not unusual for them to exclaim "I can't do yoga, I'm not flexible!" or "I got hurt the last time I went to yoga" or even "I went once, but I didn't feel like I belonged".

It's unfortunate that yoga is so often seen as a physical practice because it creates barriers. Postures, asana, are only a small part of yoga and all are relatively easy to learn and master. What is difficult is the advanced practice of meditation and living yoga off the mat.

The intention of the physical practice is to exhaust the body so the mind can rest. This is why we end each class with savasana. Being still is considered an advanced practice because we have to release our expectations for what is considered productive or worth our time and effort.

This winter, we invite you to take some time to rest, reflect, and find some stillness.

We have several donation-based community offerings in December including:
⭐Dec. 7 Yoga & Energetic Pathways
🌲Dec. 24 Christmas Eve Restorative Yoga
❤️Dec. 8 & 15 Cultivating Compassion in Difficult Times

We also have a couple of workshops scheduled with a few more to come this week including:
🌒Dec. 8 Winter Solstice Goal Setting Workshop with Rachele Red & Ken Aubuchon
🌘Dec. 21 108 Sun Salutations Workshop with Ken Aubuchon
🎉Dec. 31 NYE Restorative Yoga & Soundbath

See you on the mat.

Join us for our Winter Solstice Reflection Yoga Workshop on Sunday, December 8, from noon - 2 p.m.

A sanctuary for inner reflection and empowerment, we will honor the longest night of the year and embrace the return of light. Drawing inspiration from yoga philosophy and the symbolism of the solstice, Rachel Red & Ken Aubuchon will lead this transformative space to set intentions and cultivate personal goals amidst the quietude of winter. Through a blend of gentle movement, meditation, and contemplative practices, participants will journey inward to explore the depths of their being, awakening to the potential for growth and renewal even in the darkest of times.

Space is limited, so reserve your spot today for this light-filled journey of yoga and self-discovery.
