She earned her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2013 along with becoming a certified Kinesio Taping (CKTP) Practitioner. In 2003 Davies received her BS in Athletic Training with a minor in Biology from BGSU and an in 2005 graduated with an AS in Physical Therapy Assisting from Owens Community College. Before receiving her Doctorate in 2009 for Physical Therapy (DPT) she worked for DMC Rehab
Institute of Michigan in their center for Spinal Cord injury recovery program. Davies earned her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) title in 2013 from the American Board of Physical Therapist Specialties. To receive this title, Davies had to demonstrate extensive clinical experience, knowledge and performance in the area of orthopedics, participate in teaching and mentoring roles, be active in research and obtain a high score on the competency exam. She is also a certified Kinesio Taping (CKTP) Practitioner. In addition to her love for helping people return back to their lives, Alissa is an accomplished athlete. In college she was a D1 swimmer competing in the 2003 U.S. National Championships and qualifying for the 2004 U.S. She is a USMS All-American and former National record holder as well. Outside of work she enjoys traveling and spending with her time with family and friends, as well as continuing to swim, train as an Olympic lifter, power lifter and Crossfit athlete.
