Check out our office pharmacy! Growing up, I remember getting medications right from the doctors office whenever we needed them. Unfortunately, the bureaucracy of modern medicine has killed this practice off at most places.

There are some studies out there that have shown patients only pick up their prescribed medications from pharmacies 70-80% of the time. Usually prescribers don't consider the potential costs when they send these. At Plum, we get our medications through a wholesale supplier and we provide them at cost. I don't think I've charged anybody more than $5 for a month supply of anything since I got here.

On these shelves, we have and medications for acute problems such as infections, cold sores, and tendonitis. We also have maintenance medications for things like depression, migraines, high blood pressure, gout, etc. We still rely on our pharmacists out there, but starting something new right at the office with your doctor can sometimes be a lot easier. 💊

As a primary care doctor, I sometimes forget how many different diseases I treat my patients for on a day-to-day basis. I started to record some of these diagnoses in order to remind myself how valuable my care can be. This short list over the past month ranges from incredibly common to very rare. This variety is one of the main reasons I find primary care so fascinating and enjoyable.

I am so fortunate to now be at an office that allows me to have meaningful conversations about these health problems with my patients. Even treating minor problems can sometimes take much longer than the 15 minutes most insurance companies will give patients with their doctors.

I can’t help with everything, but I assure my patients I’ll do everything I can before sending them to any of my trusted specialists.

Yesterday, I got the chance to meet Mayor and represent ! I'm excited for the future of Michigan and the way we care for our people here. I recently made a big life change going from a large corporate system to a physician-owned and operated outpatient office. Our patients are happier and they are getting better care from their primary doctors. It was inspiring hearing about the Mayor's dedication to small businesses and healthcare reform in the state. I'm even more confident now in my decision to join the team at Plum.
