It is so important to get checked for before the structural stress creates stress, which is then compounded by injury and trauma. Some of the worst injury comes from the repetitive motion that we engage with at work. By the time you have symptoms of pain and stiffness, the degenerative process may have already become irreversible. It is far better (and easier) to maintain than to treat dis-ease. Like investing, the earlier you get in, the better. Invest in your health and your by having your spine checked for subluxations, and getting when necessary.

Another successful application of the Principles of ! We focus on correction because the body heals (proper function) when it is properly connected to the nerve system. Subluxations disrupt the bodies healing ability by disrupting the brain - body connection. Subluxations also cause the bones and of the to break down ( ) faster than they should. Understanding Chronic Subluxation and Its Impact on Spine Health

As a subluxation-based chiropractor, I want to shed light on the serious effects of chronic subluxation on the spine. The attached x-rays illustrate the changes that occur when subluxations are left uncorrected over time.

What is Subluxation?

Subluxation refers to a misalignment of the vertebrae, which can disrupt the normal function of the spine.

Visual Analysis of X-rays:

Cervical Spine (Neck): The first two x-rays show the cervical spine from both lateral (side view) and anterior to posterior (front view) perspectives. The red lines indicate the patient's current curvature and alignment with chronic subluxation, while the green lines highlight the ideal curvature and alignment. Notice the loss of the natural curve in the lateral view, which is critical for shock absorption and proper posture, and the misalignment in the anterior to posterior view.

Lumbar Spine (Lower Back): The next two x-rays depict the lumbar spine from lateral and anterior to posterior views. The red lines represent the actual alignment in this patient with chronic subluxation, while the green lines show the ideal alignment. This misalignment can lead to uneven stress distribution, accelerating wear and tear on the spine.

Impact of Chronic Subluxation:

Biomechanical Disruption: Vertebral subluxation disrupts the biomechanics of the spine, causing improper weight distribution and movement. This leads to compensatory changes in posture and gait, which can exacerbate the problem.

Acceleration of Degeneration: Over time, these subluxation misalignments can lead to spondylotic degeneration, where the spinal discs and joints wear out faster than they would in a properly aligned spine. This degeneration can result in conditions like osteoarthritis.

Neurological Decline: Subluxations primarily interfere with nerve pathways, potentially leading to neurological issues. Nerve compression or irritation can cause pain, numbness, or reduced function in areas served by those nerves.

The Importance of Early Detection and Intervention:

Early detection through regular chiropractic check-ups can prevent these issues from becoming severe. Intervention can:

Restore proper alignment, reducing stress on the spine.
Prevent or slow down degenerative changes.
Improve nerve function, reducing pain and enhancing overall health.

I try to reserve talking shop with only other care providers, and chiropractic school students (you know who you are), because I have seen what happens to your eyes, when I have started talking shop, in the past. But, because of the amazing spinal changes and health improvements we have seen lately, I can’t help myself!

As you all have by now experienced, I recently started using a hybrid analysis / system that I learned from one of my recent CEU conferences. This analysis (Pierce) doesn’t have a bespoke adjusting method, so it gives some freedom on how the DC decides on how to adjust the found . As a Full Spine guy, I have been using Drop Technique for my low back / pelvic adjusting. I am very excited and encouraged by the outcomes so far.

We have had numerous cases show almost complete restoration of their curves and neutral alignments after their initial corrective care plan. Of course, this means nothing if Quality of Life ( ) and Activities of Daily Living ( ’s) don’t improve….. but you and I both know that restoring integrity through spinal subluxation correction, ALWAYS produces an improved expression of life and function. That has been the consistent outcome in all of our cases. That is the part that excites me – we are having life improving change occurring in our office, which is wholly satisfying and validating. And I have you all to thank for that….

So, Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for your support and, occasionally, chastisement (all you Gator fans….again, you know who you are). You have been a blessing to me and my family and I hope that we can continue to be that blessing to you, through subluxation correcting care!

In this month’s SPINAL CORRECTION SPOTLIGHT, we are showcasing the low back comparison x-rays of a 41- year-old female client. She found us on (thanks to your reviews!!!) and entered our office, riding her son’s scooter for support. She could not put any pressure on her legs and was in excruciating pain, to where she couldn’t stand up straight, without assistance. She had similar bouts of pain like this before, but never this severe.

The initial X-Rays show a severe loss of curvature in her low back as well as an AI (anterior inferior) producing torsional stress on the spine. The combination of these was creating havoc on her nervous system, reducing her Quality of Life (QOL) and negatively affecting her Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s).
I recommended an initial 3-month corrective care plan because of the severity of her initial condition, as well as the frequency of prior events. We performed corrective , when and where necessary. We applied pelvic blocking as well as disc therapies, when appropriate. Due to life events, the 3-month care plan turned into a 5-month care plan; however, she was consistent with her adjustments when possible.

With consistency and proper application of the principles of subluxation correction, she has regained QOL. The follow up films are a testament to the Intelligence’s healing capacity found in every one of us. Not only has her resolved, but she has also been able to return to exercising. She has been able to go on vacation without fear that her low back would “go out” after hours of sitting. Most importantly, she has been able to engage in the important ADL’s. I am grateful so say that she is functional and thriving.

Good morning everyone.

Although I do not believe that we will be significantly impacted by the landfall of , the current models are projecting at least Tropical storm force winds will be affecting our area ( ) . That can have some disruption to traffic and power. Current forecasts put the effects of the storm to begin to impact our area by 1 PM tomorrow.

I will be in the office from 9 am – 12. We will be CLOSED Wednesday afternoon and Thursday (as usual). At this point the intent is to reopen for regular adjustments on Friday @ 9 AM. If anything changes, I will be making updates on our page and Instagram as well. God bless you. Stay safe.
