There’s a moment on the cross that we often hear… but don’t always fully understand.
When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He wasn’t saying, “I’m done.”
He was declaring something far more powerful:
Paid in full.
The debt, your debt, my debt, the weight of shame, guilt, regret, the things we carry quietly and the things that keep us up at night…
settled. Paid. In. Full.
And yet, so many people walk into counseling still carrying what has already been paid for.
They sit across from us with heavy shoulders and guarded hearts, believing they must earn healing, prove their worth, or punish themselves just a little longer. Or that they have to forgive themselves to finally heal.
But Easter reminds us of something different.
You don’t have to keep paying for what has already been covered. You can’t forgive yourself.
You don’t have to live bound to what has already been released. He already did the work.
Healing often begins here…
not in striving, but in receiving.
Today is a day of remembrance, not just of sacrifice, but of completion.
It is finished.
And that changes everything.
And we believe, change is possible.
