As a reminder to our families, all therapies will be held as scheduled today (11/24) and tomorrow (11/25). We will be closed for the remainder of the week so our clients and staff can enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday. Therapy will resume on December 1st, just in time for the start of the Christmas season!

Our friends had the best time trick-or-treating around the complex yesterday! A huge thank you to all the wonderful businesses who handed out treats and made the day so much fun for our kids.

The Shining Star Project is looking for 20-25 volunteers to help with our Adapted Basketball Team this season at Royston Baptist Church! If you have a heart for the special needs community, are 16 or older, and have reliable transportation, we’d love to have you join us. All volunteers will need an active email address to receive important information (including T-shirt sizing).

Volunteers must have no history of offenses that would prevent them from working safely with children or vulnerable individuals.

Get Ready for a Spooktacular Spirit Week! 🎃

We’re gearing up for a week full of Halloween fun and festive activities, so families and staff, be sure to join the excitement by dressing yourself or your child up for each themed day!

Monday (10/27): Pajama Day
Tuesday (10/28): Flannel Day
Wednesday (10/29): Team Sports Day
Thursday (10/30): Halloween Costume Day

We will also be trick-or-treating around the complex on Thursday, so feel free to send your child with a basket or bag to collect some sweet treats!

✨ Staff Spotlight ✨

This week we’re celebrating Sara, one of our incredible BCBAs, who has been a valued part of our team for nearly five years!

Sara is known around the clinic for her playful personality and her natural ability to connect with kids. You’ll often find her on the floor joining in their games, laughing alongside them, and finding creative ways to make learning fun. She has a gift for making every child feel comfortable, valued, and excited to engage.

When asked what she loves most about being a BCBA, Sara shared that her favorite part is spending time with the kids and seeing them achieve their goals. She’s also a strong advocate for her clients’ needs and is always encouraging consistency across environments to ensure everyone on the team is working together to support each child’s growth.

Outside of work, Sara loves spending time with family and friends, being out on the lake or beach, and relaxing with puzzles or sewing projects.

We’re so grateful for the positive energy Sara brings to our team every day. If you see her around the clinic, be sure to say hello!

We’re thrilled to share that we now have a home for our basketball practices and games: Royston Baptist Church!

A huge thank you to Royston Baptist Church for welcoming our program and supporting our athletes. Your generosity makes all of this possible, and we are truly grateful. We’d also like to thank our sponsors, board members, and volunteers for their hard work and dedication in helping bring this to life.

We have an amazing group of players registered for Adapted Basketball, and we can’t wait to hit the court for our first practice on Monday, November 11th, from 6:00–7:00 PM at 767 Church St, Royston, GA 30662.

October is AAC Awareness Month, and we’re celebrating that communication is BOO-tiful! 👻

AAC, or Augmentative and Alternative Communication, includes all the ways people express their thoughts, needs, and ideas. This can be gestures, facial expressions, eye gaze, communication boards, or speech-generating devices. Some AAC systems are temporary, others are permanent, and they range from low-tech to high-tech options.

Whether a child is learning to communicate or an adult has lost their ability to speak, AAC helps bridge communication gaps and supports participation in everyday life.
