🚨 WE HAVE BEEN RAINED OUT! TOUCH-A-TRUCK POSTPONED! 🚨

Due to weather conditions, our Touch-A-Truck event showcasing emergency service heroes has been postponed to May 14th.

We are excited to share that emergency vehicles and public works vehicles will now be joining together, making this an even larger and more exciting event!

Shining Star is excited to host our 1st Annual Community Helpers 2-Day Event and invites our entire community to join us, including families we serve, homeschool families, neighbors, and friends. Come explore amazing vehicles, meet community helpers, and enjoy a fun, hands-on experience for children of all ages while learning how these everyday heroes help keep our community safe, running, and cared for!

Event Dates:
May 7th | 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
May 14th | 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM

🚨 All Shining Star Therapy clients are welcome to attend and stay for as long as they would like during the event. If you have therapy scheduled during event hours, your therapist will be present with you throughout your session.

Bring your family, invite a friend, and help us make our first Community Helpers Day a success!

To many, this is just a picture, but to us, it’s connection, comfort, and children feeling safe enough to just be.

With every option to run, play, and go wild outside, they still chose to sit in the shade and hang with the grown-ups instead. This is a huge testament that our staff are truly one in a million. We couldn’t ask for better.

Our clients look forward to Show & Grow each week! What may look like a simple TV show is actually a great opportunity to work on important skills across Speech, ABA, and OT. During this time, we work on things like:

✨ Sitting and attending
✨ Using an appropriate voice volume
✨ Trying new foods (popcorn is a favorite!)
✨ Requesting and communicating
✨ Following directions
✨ Engaging with peers

Our staff loves creating fun, meaningful learning opportunities like this for our kids. We believe therapy should be engaging, purposeful, and tailored to each child, meeting them where they are and helping them grow in ways that feel natural and enjoyable!

Join in the fun, get creative, and celebrate the joy of reading with us! Each day, we’ll aim to read at least one Dr. Seuss book, either individually or as a group, celebrating his lasting impact on education and the excitement his stories continue to bring to readers of all ages.

Meet Jetson, our most loyal team member and Therapy Dog Candidate in training! Jetson comes to work each day with a wagging tail and the sweetest heart. As he works toward becoming a certified therapy dog for our office, he continues to impress us with his calm nature and gentle spirit.
