Connections for Special Parents

Connections for Special Parents A nonprofit support group for parents, caregivers and families raising kids with special needs. Connections for Special Parents, Inc.

(CSP) was formed to support and connect parents and caregivers raising a child with special needs. CSP strives to share information and tips about successful parenting. CSP offers opportunities that would give a child with special needs a chance to experience greater inclusion at school and in the community. We connect parents and caregivers with resources need to help each child meet his/her full

potential and help parents learn the skills needed to become more effective advocates for their child. We also provide respite to caregivers who are continuously in the throes of caring for a child with special needs.

Today, the CSP family is heartbroken beyond words.

Our beloved Executive Director, Christena, suffered the unimaginable loss of her daughter in a tragic car accident on Monday. As a community, we are grieving alongside her and holding her family close in our hearts during this devastating time.

There are no words that truly make sense in moments like this. We simply ask for prayers, love, strength, and privacy for the family as they navigate an unimaginable loss.

To everyone who has reached out, supported, loved, and stood beside our CSP family — thank you. Please continue to lift them up in the days and weeks ahead.

Hug your loved ones a little tighter today. Life can change in an instant.

With heavy hearts,
CSP Family

🍎💙 Teacher Appreciation Week 💙🍎

Today, all of us at CSP want to take a moment to recognize and thank the incredible special education teachers who pour their hearts into our children every single day.

Your patience, creativity, and dedication do not go unnoticed. You meet each child where they are, celebrate every victory (big and small), and create safe spaces where our kids can learn, grow, and truly shine.

You are advocates, encouragers, problem-solvers, and difference-makers. The impact you have reaches far beyond the classroom—into families, futures, and lives.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we are so thankful for you.

💙 Drop a comment and shout out a special education teacher who has made a difference in your child’s life!

✨ Congratulations to our May Member of the Month, Connections for Special Parents! Our May category is Nonprofits & Community Support, and we’re proud to recognize CSP for the incredible impact they make in the lives of families across our community.

All voters had the opportunity to share why this organization deserves to be recognized—and one response truly says it all:

“The love that this organization pours into its community is astounding! CSP is an amazing resource for our special needs families. It gives parents and caregivers a chance to build bonds with others who are truly walking in their shoes, while also creating opportunities for individuals with special needs to connect and participate in the community. Franklin County is truly blessed to have such an incredible resource for families who can often feel isolated.”

Through events, camps, and respite weekends, CSP creates meaningful opportunities for connection, support, and belonging for families who need it most.

We’re also excited to share that CSP will be the featured nonprofit supported by JeepFest this August—be on the lookout for ways you can get involved and support their mission along with us!

We’re proud to celebrate CSP for the compassion, connection, and care they bring to Franklin County every day. 💚
