A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Batten Funeral Home in Ruckersville, Virginia. Interment will follow at Stanardsville Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of the Piedmont, and especially the West team. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont at 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

There will be a funeral at Batten Funeral Home, 12819 Spottswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968, and interment at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 29, from 10:00 to 11:00, an hour before the service, and the interment will immediately follow thereafter.

Peggy’s life was a testimony to the redemptive power of God’s grace. She often said that the trials of her life refined her and prepared her for the ministry God called her to. She now rests in the presence of the Savior she loved so dearly—at peace, at home, and fully whole.

The family will receive friends for visitation at RiverStone Church in Charlottesville, VA at 11:00 am on August 28, 2025. The Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Robert McCready officiating. This will be a closed-casket visitation and service. A graveside committal will take place at 2:00 pm at Holly Memorial Gardens. Flowers are welcome and may be sent to RiverStone Church, 1515 Insurance Lane, Charlottesville, VA 22911, prior to the service.
