Create Power Yoga

Create Power Yoga At Create Power Yoga, we create a space where each person can feel safe and honored
Start your journey with our community. Why Yoga?

We are passionate about creating a community where each person feels safe and honored as their authentic self. We realize that everyone has different goals and reasons for coming to the mat; our mission is to honor each student in a peaceful, friendly, and non-judgemental environment. We offer consistent, challenging experiences in our classes, while helping you learn to choose what is best for your body and practice. After just one class, yoga reduces stress levels, increases flexibility, and improves brain function. Stick with your practice, and yoga lowers blood pressure, improves lung capacity, relieves chronic neck and back pain, lowers blood sugar levels, strengthens bones, improves balance, increases strength, and significantly decreases anxiety. Yoga with us will give you these benefits, and a community to support you in your goals. Whether you are a brand new student attending your first class or a seasoned yogi looking to take your practice to the next level, we invite you to meet us on your mat and let our compassionate, experienced teachers guide you in developing your own personal practice. We are located in East Providence, RI, and serve the Greater Providence area (Providence, Rumford, East Providence, Pawtucket, Seekonk, Rehoboth & beyond).

"I started practicing yoga at CPY a little over three years ago and it has been life changing. I found that yoga has helped me manage my stress and anxiety as well as gain strength and manage my rheumatoid arthritis symptoms. Yoga for me is a time to clear my mind and be in the present moment and CPY gives its students a comfortable and enjoyable place for any yoga practice. CPY has a great community behind it. All the instructors are amazing and easy to talk to. I can’t recommend this studio enough!"

A good class feels like a shared experience, not a performance. We encourage you to go at your own pace, take breaks whenever you need, and focus entirely on your own experience without feeling judged.

Breath is the first thing we sacrifice when we're stressed, and the first thing systems of oppression want to restrict. But science shows us the revolutionary power of breathing together. Group breathwork not only synchronizes heart rates but builds collective resilience against stress.

When we practice conscious breathing at CPY, we're doing more than calming our nervous systems. We're reclaiming our right to take up space. We're remembering that our breath, like our humanity, cannot be contained.

"Create Power Yoga is a wonderful studio! From day one you feel supported to ask questions, whether it’s how to perform a certain pose, or for a new RI resident like myself, where the best beaches are. The instructors are kind, well versed in their expertise, and overall just a great group of humans to surround yourself with!"
Lauren W., student since 2025

Thanks for sharing 💛 - we're also glad you've found the good beaches 🤩

What if your yoga block wasn't just for support... but for strength?

We're reimagining the tools in your practice for our new Strength & Stretch Flow. This class is built on a simple but powerful idea: true strength is built with intention.

That's why we focus on:
🧠 Slow, mindful movements that build resilient stabilizer muscles
🔥 A comfortably warm room (75°) to soothe joints and amplify mobility
🔄 Multi-week themes so you can master movements, build strength and see real progress

This class is a potent, intelligent practice for anyone who wants to build a body that feels capable and confident for the long run.

Curious how it works? Read the full story behind this new class and sign up!

Yin Yoga Pop Up ✨ Friday, November 14 at 6:30pm

This special 90-minute class with Kathleen will focus on the meridians of the lungs and large intestines as we encourage our minds and bodies to release what we do not need to carry with us into the coming winter months.

The practice of Yin yoga is slow, soothing, and meditative. Yin yoga works deeply into your body with passive, longer held poses. This floor based practice uses the support of both seated and reclined poses to target your deep connective tissues, like fascia, ligaments, and joints. A practice of Yin yoga has many benefits that may help increase mobility and flexibility, improve circulation, alleviate pain and tension, as well as relieve stress and anxiety.
