Create Power Yoga

Create Power Yoga At Create Power Yoga, we create a space where each person can feel safe and honored
Start your journey with our community. Why Yoga?

We are passionate about creating a community where each person feels safe and honored as their authentic self. We realize that everyone has different goals and reasons for coming to the mat; our mission is to honor each student in a peaceful, friendly, and non-judgemental environment. We offer consistent, challenging experiences in our classes, while helping you learn to choose what is best for yo

ur body and practice. After just one class, yoga reduces stress levels, increases flexibility, and improves brain function. Stick with your practice, and yoga lowers blood pressure, improves lung capacity, relieves chronic neck and back pain, lowers blood sugar levels, strengthens bones, improves balance, increases strength, and significantly decreases anxiety. Yoga with us will give you these benefits, and a community to support you in your goals. Whether you are a brand new student attending your first class or a seasoned yogi looking to take your practice to the next level, we invite you to meet us on your mat and let our compassionate, experienced teachers guide you in developing your own personal practice. We are located in East Providence, RI, and serve the Greater Providence area (Providence, Rumford, East Providence, Pawtucket, Seekonk, Rehoboth & beyond).

Moving more isn't always the answer. Moving better is.

That's the difference between exercise and functional practice. It's not about how many classes you take or how hard you push. It's about quality, intention, and understanding the WHY behind your movement.

When you learn to hinge at your hips instead of your lower back (hello, halfway lift!), you protect your spine. When you understand deep core engagement you build real stability (hello, plank!).

We pair the roots of yoga with functional movement; we want to help you build a relationship with your body that will serve you for life.

Satya is the practice of truthfulness. Not just saying what's easy, but speaking what's real, even when it's uncomfortable. Even when it's hard.

Right now, there are truths that we are carrying. Grief. Fear. Anger. Hope. All of it valid. All of it true.

Yoga is not a practice of ignoring the truth of our experience. Yoga teaches us to sit with what is, without turning away. To feel it in our bodies, name it in our minds, and still find the breath to move forward.

From that place of truth, we can act. We can show up for what we believe. We can be honest with ourselves and each other.

Classes are where we explore the deeper teachings of yoga, but we honor and truly practice yoga by taking its ethics into the world.

How are you bringing your yoga off of your mat?

We'd rather give you the best first experience than a free first experience.

We understand that many people want to "try out" a class before deciding on taking more. We get that. That's why we offer 30 days of unlimited classes for new students.

One class just doesn't give you a good sense of whether our classes are for you. You're walking into a new space, hearing new words for the first time (wtf is "chatarunga"?!), and realizing that there's a bit of a learning curve to this whole thing. Trust us when we say you need to try at least 3 classes to get a "feel" for it.

Our unlimited classes intro offer is intentional. It's based on over 14 years of new student experiences.

Lately we’ve noticed a trend with our 500-class milestone students: in 500 classes, they’ve learned not only to challenge their bodies but also to honor rest.

When Carlos E. started with us, he always did the most, in every class. Now, you might find him in a challenging asana, but you might also find him napping during a class - warm, safe, and judgement free in his community. THAT is an advanced practice.

Happy 500 Carlos!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Tapas is the heat we generate through effort. The discomfort we willingly move through because we know something awaits on the other side.

On the mat, it's holding a pose one breath longer than you want to. Off the mat, it's staying present with the hard news, the hard conversations, the hard work of building a better world.

Discomfort isn't the enemy. It's the doorway.

The stamina we build in our bodies - staying with the burn, breathing through the intensity - teaches us how to stay engaged when the world feels overwhelming. We don't look away. We breathe. We stay. We act.
