****FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE****

Brothers and Sisters,

Thanks to the PACT Act, many Veterans are now able to enroll directly in VA health care without first applying for VA benefits – including Vietnam Veterans, Gulf War Veterans, Veterans who deployed to a combat zone and left active duty in the last ten years, and more.

But for some Veterans, the time to apply is running out. Specifically:

Veterans who deployed to a combat zone, never enrolled in VA health care, and left active duty between September 11, 2001, and October 1, 2013, are eligible to enroll directly in VA health care – but their deadline to apply is September 30, 2023.
Veterans who deployed to a combat zone, never signed up for VA health care, and left active duty after October 1, 2013 are eligible to enroll directly in VA health care – but their deadline to apply is 10 years after they left active duty (meaning that some Veterans’ eligibility could expire as early as October 1, 2023).

If you fall into any of the above categories, VA wants you to apply for the health care you deserve today at VA.gov/PACT. Even if you don’t fall into those categories, there are other ways for you to access VA health care. And – of course – you can also still apply for PACT Act disability compensation benefits anytime.

VA is the best health care in America for Veterans – and if you fall into the above categories, this is your best chance to sign up. Veterans who are enrolled in VA health care are proven to have better health outcomes than those who get their care elsewhere, and VA hospitals dramatically outperformed non-VA hospitals in overall quality ratings and patient satisfaction ratings. And VA health care isn’t only the best option for Veterans – it’s often the more affordable – with copays as low as $0 for prescriptions, urgent care, outpatient care, and more for some Veterans at VA.

Even if you don’t need this care today, you might need it tomorrow, or the next day, or 30 years from now. And once you’re in, you have access for life.

So don’t wait – get the world-class care you’ve earned. Apply today or learn more at VA.gov/PACT.

Stop by the VSO Office or call me at the information listed below to learn more or start the enrollment process.

There has been a very low response rate regarding the FFA care package program. the initial post has reached over 1,800 people and only one response. Does that mean that no one knows anyone locally serving in our armed forces? All that is needed is a name and address. Please, share the heck out of this and let’s get these service members taken care of!!

ATTENTION! All Rush County residents who have family, friends or loved ones currently serving in the armed forces are encouraged to reach out to the Rush County Veterans Service Officer. The Rushville FFA is once again doing a holiday care package program for active-duty veterans.

This is a program that is very special as I was once a recipient, myself!!
