We are excited and happy to introduce a new therapist to our team, Christina DeWitt, LCSW! With 11 years of experience in social work, Christina is deeply passionate about helping individuals find healing, growth, and connection. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she provides individual therapy for those navigating anxiety, depression, co-occurring disorders, substance misuse, women’s health concerns, and overall life challenges. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in a blend of person-centered, evidence-based modalities, creating a safe and supportive space for my clients. Drawing from Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Experiential Therapy, Christina works to foster genuine healing, personal growth, and the capacity to build meaningful relationships. She utilizes approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and CBT, while tailoring each session to the unique needs of the individual. Outside of therapy, she finds joy in connecting with nature, tapping into her creativity, sharing laughter, and spending time with her husband, kids and family dog, Tomac.

Please join us in congratulating Sheryl Martin on her well-deserved retirement after 20 incredible years with Harcourt Counseling Services! Sheryl has worn many hats during her time with us—she has been our receptionist, office manager, and insurance biller all rolled into one. In every role, she was the backbone of our team!
Countless clients have been comforted by Sheryl’s warm smile and helping hand. She’s also been an incredible support to our therapists, always there with a listening ear or the answer to any question—no matter how big or small. Sheryl was basically the go-to person for everything!
While it's impossible to capture all that she has done for our team, one thing is clear: Sheryl has been nothing short of amazing. We are so grateful for all she has done, and she will be greatly missed. Congratulations, Sheryl—you truly deserve the best in this next chapter!

We have some exciting news to share! As of October 1, 2024, Harcourt Counseling Services, Inc officially changed ownership. Adam Jarman, LMHC stepped into this leadership role, and we couldn’t be more thrilled about this new chapter!

As the owner and founder of Harcourt Counseling Services I have enjoyed the past 32 years of building the business, but the timing seemed right to slow down my career. At this point in my life, I needed to either give up business ownership or being a therapist and that was an easy choice for me! My passion is still therapy, and I will continue to see clients part-time at HCS. Thank you, Rush County, for welcoming and supporting a small, private practice in 1992, when private practice mental health clinics were rare and stigma around mental health was high. I am so grateful that Adam has accepted this role, ensuring that HCS will continue to thrive.

Adam has been with us for over four years and has demonstrated exceptional clinical and leadership abilities. He was born and raised in Rush County and wants to continue his commitment to the community and to the legacy of HCS. I have complete confidence in Adam’s ability to lead the company while upholding our core values. We are also excited to announce that Dreama Hallgarth, LCSW and Stephanie Owen, PMHNP will remain a vital part of our clinical team! Our clinical team, our office address and our company name will all stay the same!

Thank you for your continued support, loyalty, and trust. It is comforting to know that HCS will remain a vital part of our community, working alongside local organizations to address the mental health needs in our rural area, where access to help can often be a challenge.
Please welcome Adam as the new owner of HCS!
Warm regards,
Cindy Harcourt, LCSW

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the owners and staff of Rushville’s Corner Restaurant following this tragic fire. Since our building is down the street, many have asked if our building and staff were harmed. Thankfully our building and staff are safe and we are open for business. Our hearts go out to all those impacted by the loss of this local business and iconic building. Thank you to the amazing firefighters who worked tirelessly to keep the fire contained. We appreciate you!

Valentine’s Day can be a difficult day for many. If the social media posts are too painful please do yourself a favor and turn it off for a few days. Pay attention to what you need today and remember it’s okay that you’re not okay. And if you know someone who is struggling today, reach out to them. It might be just what they need.
