In order for the body to heal the irritated tissue must be given time to heal. But for people with low back pain that can be difficult while living everyday life. Here are some movement tools intended to be incorporated into everyday movements. Moving without pain is the goal. Try these out and let us know what you think.

Low Back Pain is the most commonly seen condition in our clinic. It can be considered a vulnerable area for humans as it is used in most every motion we do. From siting as our desks, to standing in line, or picking up anything it is in constant use. One of the best ways to prevent pain is to strengthen the low back and core muscles. But for those who are currently in pain an extensive work out is not possible. I recommend gentle easy stretching in positions that alleviate the pain. Here is a link to stretches that are shown to help with most low back pain. The goal is to relive the pain during and after the stretch. If there is no pain relief or even an increase in pain it is not advised to repeat that stretch.

INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE AND ACUPUNCTURE.

“Mainstream” medical practice is based on knowledge of disease and specializes in the use of drugs and surgery to treat acute and chronic disease. “Complimentary” medicine focuses on the identification of factors that promote health and recognizes the ability of the body to heal itself given the proper environment to do so by removing obstacles to health. Solidly grounded in scientific theory and practice, alternative medical treatments minimize the use of drugs and surgery and focus on prevention, nutritional and physical therapy, herbal medicine, Acupuncture, homeopathy, lifestyle and diet modifications, and a variety of other treatments intended to aid restoration of function.

Too often, patients feel they must choose between mainstream and Complimentary medical approaches. Being trained and experienced in both approaches allows our medical staff to carefully choose therapies from these diverse approaches that are best suited for an individual. “Integrative Medicine” combines the most promising therapies from a wide variety of healthcare practices and philosophies that provide access to what we feel are the safest and most effective medical interventions.
