At SPARC, we are constantly inspired by the creativity and honesty our clients bring to their journey. This poem, written during the first few weeks of the program, is a powerful reminder of the courage it takes to face life’s choices and the hope that comes with each step forward. 🌟
Green or Red
Stop and go, yes and no,
Two directions—where to go?
Red means no, green means yes,
I chase the first—God, I’m a mess.
I viciously lead on my way,
Down the hardest path I’ve ever strayed.
I can’t keep going—too far to stop,
Red and green—just a thought.
Life grew harder with choices I made,
I’m at a fork in the road—green or red.
Which way to go? This choice I dread.
I’m barely human, almost dead.
Why must I choose—
Why couldn’t the colors be green and blue?
So my heart’s off beat, to stay alive,
I broke down, pushed my pride aside,
Picking green for the first time in my life.
The better way was tough as hell,
Not missing the slightest smell,
But with amazing results—loving life—
Green I bought.
So if you’re like me at the fork in the road,
Let my life decide for you which to stroll.
Change the colors to solid gold—
No green or red, one road to stroll.
