If you have questions or concerns about measles, we’re here to help! While it’s always good to stay informed, there’s no need to worry. If you have any questions or concerns, please give your primary healthcare provider a call. Your health and safety are our top priority!

🤒 Worried about ? If you think you or one of your family members may have been exposed and are experiencing the following symptoms, it could be measles!

Symptoms of measles usually begin with fever, cough, runny nose, and red eyes. Two or three days after, tiny white spots may appear inside the mouth. Three to five days later, the start of a will spread.

📞 Call your healthcare provider or local health department right away to avoid potentially spreading it to others. There is no treatment or cure for measles, but a healthcare provider can help relieve symptoms and address any complications that may develop. An vaccine can also prevent or reduce the severity of infection if received within 3 days after an exposure.

Our April Lab Fair was originally scheduled for Easter weekend, but to better accommodate our community, we have rescheduled it to Saturday, April 26th! 🗓️

Join us at Clara Barton Medical Center from 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM for reduced-cost lab tests. Enter through the hospital's front entrance and take advantage of these valuable health screenings.

💡 Fasting is recommended for lab tests.

CBMC WELCOMES SARAH VONFELDT, LMSW

Clara Barton Medical Clinic is excited to expand its mental health therapy services with the addition of Sarah Vonfeldt, LMSW, to its clinical team. As a clinical social worker, Vonfeldt is eager to bring her knowledge and dedication to serving the Central Kansas community.

A Bunker Hill native, Vonfeldt earned her Bachelor of Social Work in 2018 and her Master of Social Work in 2021 from Fort Hays State University. She is particularly devoted to supporting women and families through the perinatal period (pre- and post-pregnancy), completing certificate courses with Perinatal Support International.

Vonfeldt resides in Russell with her husband, Michael, and their two children. Both she and Michael are lifelong Russell County residents, and they love raising their children in the same area where they grew up. Together, they enjoy camping, kayaking, cooking, and making memories with extended family and friends.

“I love our small communities because of the hard-working and resourceful people,” said Vonfeldt. “I want to see these towns thrive for many more generations. I was raised to care for my home and neighbors.”

At Clara Barton Medical Center, Vonfeldt looks forward to collaborating with a diverse team in a supportive, wellness-focused environment. She finds building trusting relationships with patients to be one of the most rewarding aspects of her work and emphasizes the importance of rest for overall health and well-being.

“We are so excited to welcome Sarah to our Clara Barton team,” said Shayla Cook, Clinic Administrator. “Sarah’s friendly and compassionate demeanor, coupled with her positive energy, makes her the perfect fit. Her passion for providing mental health services will have a tremendous impact on the rural communities we serve, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have her on board.”
