A few facts about why rural health care is important, why RRH is proud to serve YOU, and why we celebrate National Rural Health Day:

Population: Approximately one in five people in the U.S. lives in a rural area.

Health challenges: Rural residents often experience higher poverty rates and face unique health challenges, including a lack of healthcare providers, an aging population, and limited access to care due to transportation barriers.

Access issues: Rural areas often have fewer healthcare providers and facilities, and limited transportation options can make it difficult to access care.

Economic impact: Rural hospitals are significant economic engines for their communities, supporting billions in economic activity and jobs.

Injury rates: Unintentional injury deaths, including from motor vehicle crashes and opioid overdoses, are more common in rural areas compared to urban areas.
