On February 26, 2026, Patricia Louise Saint, age 84, passed away at Helen Keller Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Pat was born on November 29, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, to her parents Leslie and Sebastiana Hegel. She grew up in the heart of Chicago, where she met the love of her life, Bobby T. Saint. Together they started their family and later reunited with Bobby’s family in Russellville, Alabama.
How do you describe someone as perfect as Pat? It’s hard to put into words. She was all this and more; beautiful, selfless, kind, loving, compassionate, generous, strong, hard-working, witty, and fun. Pat was graceful, and humble, and always offered positive, encouraging words to others. She was a friend to everyone.
She wasn’t afraid to express herself through her fun hair styles and color choices throughout her life. She always loved to look her best, she was iconic! She loved painting and collecting olde world Santa Claus figurines, as well as painting beautiful landscape sceneries. She loved entertaining and always had a big pan of mostaccioli and homemade sauce ready for her family coming to visit. She loved greeting and conversing with the regular patrons of The Coffee Bean Cafe, and later Hester Printing. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Russellville.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby T. Saint; her son, Robert Saint; her daughters, Tammy Lynn Saint, Dina Johnson (Ken); her brother, Michael Hegel (Barb); her grandchildren, Mellisa Fish (Michael), Ariel Johnson, David Gargus, Michael Gargus, Jennifer Fletcher-Harkins (John), and Skylor Bouwmans (Ashley); her great-grandchildren, Michaela Fish, Alayna Grace Fish, Brett Fish (Jordan), Kesciley Fletcher, Karley Fletcher, Karson Fletcher, Aaleyah Ergle, Ava Kaye Ergle; her great-great-grandchildren, Nolan Fish, Amberly Bouwmans, and S.J. Bouwmans; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Sebastiana Hegel; her son, Jimmy Saint; and her grandsons, Joey Fletcher and Anthony Fletcher.
A Celebration Of Life will be held at Akins Funeral Home on Friday March 6, 2026 between 4:00 - 7:00 PM with a short service to be held at 5:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in Pat’s name to HASRA - Heart of Alabama Save Rescue Adopt animal shelter at http://hasradog.org
