🧠 Healing takes time as you move towards…Rebuilding self-worth and personal identity, restoring normal adrenaline levels, finding a new inner strength, establishing positive self beliefs, finding an understanding of your own emotions and body sensations, learning how to make new healthy connections.
🪴There is hope in healing. There is motivation in feeling heard and understood.

✨ If you feel as though you need guidance in your healing process, I would love to meet with you to discuss how I may be able to help.

⛈️ When I heard about Hurricane Helene, the devestation, and the continued stories of those affected, my initial response was grief, horror, sadness but then came the thought “these victims and responders need acute response EMDR and trauma therapists NOW!” 💥
🫶🏼 Then, seeing there is a response team getting these services set up and developed for the people brought me to tears!
📌 I’m going to register as a member and will help however I can with the legal and ethical barriers that stand. I’ll keep an update here as I find out more!
♥️ Let’s continue to keep these communities and helpers in steady prayer!

We are so thankful for our community of volunteers and supporters, and those new to HAP, who are reaching out to offer assistance. Thank you for being here! We are currently in the planning and coordination stages of responding to communities in North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene. We are wo...

Happy Friday everyone! 🌼
Let’s talk about EMDR and what IS it? I love being asked that question. It is one of my absolute favorite therapy methods to use with clients, it works!
👇🏻👇🏻

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that was designed to reduce distress associated with traumatic memories. When EMDR therapy treatment is successful, the distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reformulated, and physiological arousal is reduced. EMDR therapy involves the client attending to emotionally disturbing material in brief episodes while simultaneously focusing on an external stimulus.

Studies show that clients who engage in EMDR therapy can experience benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to accomplish. Severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal, and EMDR is one of the best solutions to address it.

EMDR therapy can help children and adults of all age groups overcome a number of challenges, not just specific traumatic events. Other challenges that can be targeted include: anxiety, bipolar disorders, chronic illnesses, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, grief and loss, and so much more!
