One of my favorite products from now comes in an extra strength version. Revaree plus is a hormone free non-irritating option for those suffering with vaginal dryness and painful in*******se. This product is composed of sweet almond oil and hyaluronic acid.

Available online or at your local Target store, this product is an incredible option.

There are so many reasons why weight loss medications are a tool in your toolbox, but are not meant to be used alone. Not doing cardiovascular and weight-bearing exercise and eating a healthy balanced diet that focuses on protein intake while on a GLP-1 medication will not only make you lose muscle mass, but it will hinder the medication from working as effectively. You should be building muscle as you are losing weight and therefore continue to be successful with weight loss and not plateau. As a board certified obesity medicine physician and obgyn I tell patients all the time that when we do a prior authorization for these medications, the first question asked for approval “is this medication being used in conjunction with lifestyle changes like diet and exercise“ if you answer no then it’s an automatic denial for the medication. No method of weight loss is singular and requires a multifaceted approach.

And so are you!

We think we have it figured out in our 20s and then move that back to our 30s so these stats are motivating.

I left corporate medicine at 38 and I’ll be 43 later this month. Excited to see where the next decade takes me!

“What do you bring to the table?”

Nothing. I bring nothing to the table. I have a career, l run businesses, I hold a hospital department together in a period of uncertainty. I battle infertility and multiple sclerosis while caring for others literally 24/7.
I’m class, I’m quality. I’m the chef and the holiday magic. I keep track of everything. I fix, I strategize, l initiate, I give support, encouragement and life advice. I see through people, I guide, I protect, l cheer, I comfort, I care, I love.

I AM THE DAMN TABLE.

Major red flags 🚩 🚩

Seriously. If anyone who claims to provide hormone replacement therapy for women and men says this they very clearly have zero knowledge of basic human physiology and have no business practicing in the hormone and wellness space.

It’s common knowledge (now…it wasn’t for a long time) that women require testosterone for many health and wellness benefits and that men conversely require some estrogen for their bone, heart and brain health. Anyone can claim to know what they’re doing but seeing someone without expertise in hormones is extra dangerous because they can cause real harm to you.

Ask how long someone has been treating patients specifically for the therapy you are getting. Just having a license to practice doesn’t mean you have the expertise to do so. I wouldn’t try to treat you as a cardiologist when that’s clearly not my specialty. The bad rep that HRT gets is from providers that are uneducated but do it anyway.

Anyone go in for perimenopause or menopause treatment and been told that testosterone is for men? I hope you walked out and found someone who actually knows what they’re talking about!

Happy Easter!

I’m a person that loves holidays and going “all out” with a theme but holidays have become harder and harder for me to keep traditions alive since my parents have passed and we haven’t had children yet. I see friends, fellow doctors and especially my patients every single day that have children and continue to grow their families. I continue to try to make it special but this year, I didn’t have the energy. I didn’t even bring out my Easter decorations even though I have so much and even bought some new things this year. Life’s been too heavy and as today came around I regret it. I regret not making myself do it to create my own joy today.

I came close to being a mother a couple of times but lost those chances when the first pregnancy implanted in my fallopian tube and it had to be surgically removed and again when we had a miscarriage. I have grieved privately for many years and have felt so alone like so many of my patients and friends. While I am proud of my many accomplishments, the most important to me now is to start a family of my own. I know my path is leading there but it is taking much longer than I had anticipated. I know all too well how many women feel this way. In the meantime, I still feel so blessed and so in awe of all of you that can take your little ones (or not so little ones anymore) to church, make bunny shaped pancakes for breakfast, run after them at Easter egg hunts, color Easter eggs with them and snuggle them to sleep at night while juggling so many other responsibilities. You all inspire me and help me believe that one day I will be able to as well. It’s hard to be a mom and balance everything...it’s hard not to be a mom and to want to be so one so badly as well. 🙏🏽💕
