Meet Chris Swinney, our Encore Rehabilitation – Russellville Patient Spotlight! 👏

Chris has shown incredible commitment and focus throughout his recovery journey. He walks into the clinic each day with a smile and a level of determination that truly stands out. His positive attitude has been an inspiration to everyone—patients, therapists, and even our front office manager! 💪

After tearing both ACLs (Anterior Cruciate Ligaments) and suffering a significant meniscus tear in his left knee, Chris faced a tough road to recovery. But through hard work and dedication, he has made amazing progress!

Chris shared, “I went from being on a walker to walking without assistance, squatting, and I have even been able to start running again. My rehab program was designed to be specific to my needs. Encore Russellville was recommended to me by past patients and I would also highly recommend Encore Rehabilitation – Russellville. They have a super helpful and friendly staff and they were always willing to spend the extra time to help me reach my goals!”

Join us in congratulating Lisa Matias, our Encore Athlete of the Month – Russellville!

Lisa is a senior at Russellville High School where she proudly represents the Golden Tigers on the soccer field!⚽

After graduation, Lisa plans to attend Northwest-Shoals Community College before continuing her education at University of North Alabama to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. We have no doubt she will make an incredible teacher one day!

Outside of soccer, Lisa enjoys running, cooking, shopping, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and baking in her spare time. She is the daughter of Eduardo Jose Thomas.

Meet Sid Scarborough, PT, Regional Vice President of Business Development with Encore Rehabilitation. Sid has served the Mobile and Baldwin County market for 12 years and brings more than 37 years of experience as a Physical Therapist practicing orthopedic, acute, and industrial physical therapy.

In addition to his clinical background, Sid spent over 20 years as a hospital administrator, overseeing ambulatory services and industrial medicine programs. His leadership in the Industrial Rehab setting includes post-injury rehabilitation, work hardening and work conditioning, return-to-work programming, ergonomic assessments and worksite analysis, and pre- and post-employment screening across all levels of industrial environments.

Sid also serves as a primary educator for back injury prevention, workplace safety guidelines, and workstation analysis, helping organizations reduce risk while supporting employee health. With a strong background in claims management and medical case coordination, he ensures injured workers receive timely, effective care while helping employers maintain compliance and control claim costs.

Sid’s depth of experience allows for consistent, effective communication between employees, healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and employers — reinforcing Encore’s position as a trusted leader in Industrial Rehab and Workers’ Comp services.
