Betty Christine Thornton, age 54, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, April 02, 2026, at Russellville Hospital.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Courtney Thornton (Grant Collins), Jared Thornton; grandchild, Noah Collins; sister Wendy Bradford (Joey) and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William & Bobbie (Fuller) Lemley; and sister, Julie Lemley.

Jerry Herman Hall, age 75, of Russellville, passed away on Friday, April 03, 2026, at Arabella Nursing Home. He was born on March 20, 1951, to Herman & Willie Mae (Watson) Hall.

Jerry retired from Alabama Department of Transportation. He loved his Auburn Tigers as much as he loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Syble Hall; his son, Jerry "Shane" Hall; his stepson, Darren Hall; father, Herman Hall; mother, Willie May Smith (Robert Smith); brother, Rick Hall, H.M. Terry Ray, Larry Hall, and James Melvin Hall; and sister, Wetha Wenola McMurray.

He is survived by his sister Betty Bedford; his children, Sandra Sparks (Greg),Teresa South (Ben), Wayne Hall, Katrina “Tina” Hall Gibson; daughter-in-law, Courtney Hall; grandchildren, Shana Hall Denton, Memphis Hall, April Newell, Olivia Sutton, Renee Baker, Kayla Sparks, Toni Nix, Cassy Groce, Justin Hall, DJ Hall, Steven Hall, Lil Wayne Hall, Josh Hall, Jessica Hall, Amber Gibson, Micah Gibson; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and special friends, Lisa and Kenneth.

Jerry’s death was very unexpected and unfortunately did not have life insurance. The family is asking please consider in lieu of flowers, to please donate to Spry Memorial Chapel to aid in the funeral expenses. If you cannot do this, please continue to keep our family in your prayers.

Amie Renea McKinney Burrows, age 51, of Russellville, passed away on Saturday, April 04, 2026, at her residence. She was surrounded by the people she loved at her daughter’s residence.

Renea was born December 06, 1974, in Dallas, Texas to Marvin Leroy “Pete” (Sr.) and Amie May McKinney. She spent most of her life in Russellville, Alabama and loved her family very much. She loved watching butterflies and loved yellow roses of Texas. She was very selfless, had a very giving spirit, and would do anything for anyone. She worked at Taco Bell and made many friends during her time there.

She was very outgoing, a wild spirit, very determined, and never had a hard time making decisions. Renea was devoted to working with children’s church and working concessions at Cross Brand Cowboy Church in Killen where she and her husband, Alan attended. She loved her family very much, and first and foremost, she loved her Jesus.


She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of six wonderful years Robert Alan Burrows; daughter, Auburn Renea Amber Allison (Gage); grandchildren, Athena Hargett, Adelina Allison, Leonidas Allison; brothers, Marvin McKinney (LeAnn), Melvin McKinney; several nieces & nephews; as well as her best friend and fur baby, Alana Luana Burrows.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Leroy “Pete” McKinney, Sr, and mother, Amie May Thomas McKinney.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Doris Nicholson, born on February 11, 1937, entered her heavenly home on Easter Sunday April 5, 2026, at Russellville Hospital. A beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Doris lived a long and beautiful life rooted in faith, kindness, and unwavering love for those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mattie Nicholson, and by her siblings Bessie Sutton, Clarence Nicholson, Dale Franks, James Nicholson, Gladys Burcham, Eugene Nicholson, and Ellis “Bo” Nicholson. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Doris is survived by her devoted niece and best friend, Virgie Seay, along with many other nieces and nephews who loved her deeply. To her family, Doris was a source of warmth, devotion, and gentle humor.

A lifelong member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Doris lived her faith quietly and sincerely. Her steadfast spirit, generosity, and love for others was a reflection of her love for the Lord.
Doris’ legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in every life she touched. She will be forever missed and deeply cherished by her family.

Services Funeral services will be held at Spry Funeral Home in Russellville, AL on Tuesday, April 7th. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral beginning at 12:00 p.m.

William “Bill” Jackson Carlisle Sr., age 89, of Tharptown, passed away on Wednesday, April 01, 2026, at his residence.

To know Bill was to know someone who loved deeply and lived fully. He was a devout Christian, a devoted church member of Tharptown Baptist Church, and a Sunday School teacher of the Men’s Senior Sunday School class. He was a dedicated member of the Tharptown Cemetery committee and devoted a lot of time to the history of the community of Tharptown. For years Bill worked at Robbins Tires & Rubber and was also a jack of all trades. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and trap shooter. He never met a stranger, loved to talk, and could tell some wonderful stories. More than anything he was a devoted husband and father who loved his family very much. They will treasure the many memories that he leaves behind.

Judy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a friend to all who knew her. She loved being a nurse for 20 years then working at the veterinary clinic for many years. She enjoyed reading in her spare time.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 53 years, Jimmy Britton; children, Matthew Britton (Kim), Marty Britton, Katy Britton Graham (Alex); grandchildren, Riley Graham, Hayden Malone; brother, Lloyd Tollison, Jr.; and several nieces & nephews.

Allen Dillon Ergle, age 63, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026.

Allen loved to hunt, fish, and work with his hands, and was a diehard Alabama fan. He had a natural talent as a gardener, enjoying the process of planting, gathering the goods from the garden, and selling the produce. Above everything he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed going to their ball games and spending time with them.

Allen is survived by his son, Kelly Ergle (Julie); grandchildren, Kannon Ergle, Josie Ergle; brother, Alex Ergle (Teresa); sister, Belinda Steward; ex-wife, Coleen Ergle; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Dillon “J.D.” Ergle; mother, Lucille Howard Vandiver; and sisters, Sue Sutherland and Barbara Kinard.

The visitation will be 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 02, 2026, at Spry Memorial with a memorial service following at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Bro. Willi Cummings will speak at the service.

Addie Faye Glasgow, age 83, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Arabella Nursing & Rehab Center.

Addie was a woman who missed her husband and loved her family more than anything. She never met a stranger and was a great cook. She enjoyed collecting rocks, going to flea markets and thrift stores, listening to country music, and spending time with her family. The family will cherish their many memories with their mom and grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Jim Glasgow (Cecilia), Tommy Glasgow, Rosa Smith; grandchildren, Tyler Glasgow, Ashley Glasgow, Corey Glasgow, Matthew Lawler, Elijah Smith, Jeremiah Smith, Pace Glasgow; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Edward Glasgow; daughter, Sherry Glasgow Elliott; granddaughter, Nakita Malone; parents, Louis & Mattie (King) Pace; and sisters, Velma Sillett, Mattie Raye Bolton; and Doris Ann Andrews.

Patsy “Pat” Fay Taylor, age 80, of Hackleburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at her residence.

Pat loved collecting roosters, sunflowers, eating at good restaurants, but more than anything, she loved family gatherings. She had the biggest heart of anyone, a true servant’s heart, and was a great cook. She always made time for all of the neighborhood children, and she wanted to take care of everyone. We shared a sister bond like no other and she was always our rock. She will be missed by all who know and love her.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her sisters, Betty Quinn (Butch), Brenda McRae (Terry), brother-in-law, Travis Newell; nephews, Tony Burleson and Alan Henderson, and a host of friends.

It is with heavy hearts but grateful spirits, we announce the passing of our precious mother, Leatrice Cooper Horton who went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Leatrice was the beloved matriarch of her family, a woman whose love, strength, and unwavering faith shaped generations. She spent her life caring for those around her, always offering a warm smile, a kind word, and a steady presence to anyone who needed it. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.

She is survived by her children, Perry Lawler (Regina), Gail Newbury, Kenny Lawler (Teresa), Sonya Clement, Michael Lawler (Lynn), stepchildren, Michael Horton, Al Horton (Marsha), Hal Horton (Carla), Laura Everett (Randall); her grandchildren, Chris Lawler, Kamiren Butler (Steven) Mark Newbury (Katie), Cara Redhorn (Clark), Kimberly Addie, Melissa Putman, Erin Wilson (Jon), Seth Newbury (Nancy), Caleb Lawler (Angie), Holly Montgomery (Nate), Stacey Putman, and great grandchildren, Glenn, Cailynn, Jackson, Mia, Hudson, Gwen, Zoey, Olivia, Claire, Mila, Brandon, Sophia, & Isaiah.

Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the lessons she taught, and the faith she instilled in those who knew her. She will always be remembered for her love, her faith, and the gentle way she held her family together.

Though our hearts ache in her absence, we rejoice in the promise that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and we know that she is now healed and made whole.

A celebration of her life will be held at Spry Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 with visitation 12-2 pm and funeral to begin at 2 pm.

The pallbearers will be Caleb Lawler, Jon Wilson, Nate Montgomery, and Steven Butler.

We would like to give a special shout out to all of the caregivers who helped take care of our mom in her final days on this earth. It takes strength, compassion, and selflessness to do the job that these ladies did, and we are forever grateful for the love and care you each showed her. Kenny Seth Peppers, age 77, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Sunday, March 01, 2026, at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing & Rehab Center.

Kenny proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a produce manager and later in the manufactured housing industry. He was an avid bass fisherman and hunter in his younger days and loved Alabama football.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis Seth & Annie Lou (Evans) Peppers.

He is survived by his brother, Michael Peppers and a host of cousins.

No public service is being held. Kenny will be buried at Shady Grove Cemetery with his other family members.
