💙Adult Grief Support Group💙

THP is offering an Adult Grief Support Group Monday, August 11th, at 12pm.

This group is open to ANY adult who has or is experiencing grief. This group is in addition to our bi-weekly all ages support group. Any adults are welcome to join us regardless of type of loss or previous THP involvement. We hope to continue offering this group monthly to meet the need of adults experiencing grief in our community.

This group will have guest speaker Carolyn O’Byrne from Daisy’s Place.

RSVP is not required to participate in this group but is encouraged. To RSVP you may call our office at 256-383-7133, email officemanager@thehealingplaceinfo.org, or message us directly.

We usually think of triggers as something to manage, avoid, or get past.

But what if your trigger is actually pointing to a part of you that still feels unsafe? Instead of pushing it away, what if you got curious and asked: what part of me is speaking right now? What is it afraid of? What does it need?

A trigger doesn’t mean you’re failing.

It means something inside you is asking to be seen.

Healing begins when we meet those moments - not with judgment, but with compassion and curiosity.

Healing from relational wounds takes time, and trusting someone new can feel impossible after past betrayals. It’s natural to struggle with vulnerability, fearing the consequences of opening up again. Painful patterns may repeat, but each challenge is also a chance to reflect, heal, and transform. Growth isn’t about avoiding past wounds but learning from them. With patience and self-compassion, resilience emerges from the hurt, leading to deeper connections and a renewed sense of self. Healing isn’t linear, but it is possible.
