💔 A tragic reminder of why AEDs and Cardiac Emergency Response Plans are so important.

A 13-year-old boy died from sudden cardiac arrest during PE.

- Did the school have an AED? Yes.
- Was it used during this emergency? No.
- Why? They didn’t know the school had one. It was in the main office. No one told them.

On May 5, 2025, a California appellate court upheld the $15M verdict, citing the school’s failure to inform staff about the AED’s presence and location.
