Dr. Brad Anders, OD provides both medical and routine eye care for patients in Ruston and the surrounding areas. We are in network with most major medical insurance plans as well as a few of the more common vision plans. Our office is located in Ruston Commons on Farmerville highway in Ruston. Our goal at Ruston Eye & Vision is to provide a personal experience for each of our patients while provid

ing the highest standard of eye care. Being a family oriented business, we want all of our patients to feel like a part of that family. Meet our Doctor:
Dr. Anders graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN where he earned the degree of Doctor of Optometry. Dr. Anders set himself apart with the honor of being selected as "Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities" at both Louisiana Tech and Southern College of Optometry. Dr. Anders received in-depth optometric training through internships at The Eye Center at Southern College of Optometry (Memphis, TN), the Alexandria VA Medical Center (Pineville, LA), and Bossier Family Eye Care (Bossier City, LA). These internships were focused in the following areas:
-Primary Eyecare
-Standard and Specialty Contact Lenses
-Pediatrics and Binocular Vision
-Low Vision and Rehabilitation
-Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease
-Minor Surgical Procedures

A native of Winnsboro, LA, Dr. Anders is following in the footsteps of his late father, Dr. David R. After finishing his optometric education and training, Dr. Anders and his family decided to make their home in Ruston, where he and his wife, Ashleigh, met while studying at Louisiana Tech. Dr. Anders is licensed to practice optometry in the State of Louisiana.

Happy eclipse day, everyone! Make good decisions today and DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN WITHOUT APPROVED PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR! Even with the moon in the way, our eyes are not capable of withstanding the brightness of the sun. Much like using a magnifying glass to light a leaf, except our eye is both the magnifying glass and the leaf!

There are ONLY two ways to safely view a solar eclipse: through indirect viewing (https://tinyurl.com/yjx897jv) or through approved eyewear conforming to the ISO 12312-2:2015(E) requirements for light transmittance.

We hope the clouds part for us to see the eclipse! Share pics with us if you get a good one!
