🇺🇸 Honoring Mr. Rayford “Ray” Brown – United States Marine Corps Veteran 🇺🇸
This week, we’re proud to honor one of our residents, LCPL Rayford Brown, for his dedicated service to our country and his lasting impact here in Ruston.
Mr. Brown served in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1966, including 13 months in Okinawa during the Vietnam era. He was part of the Honor Guard at the White House during President Kennedy’s administration, earned the rank of Corporal twice, and was recognized as an expert rifleman. His service concluded with an honorable discharge — and his lifelong pride in the Marine Corps is clear to everyone who knows him.
After his time in the military, Mr. Brown continued to serve his community here in Ruston. He spent time at the Ruston Daily Leader and later operated Rayford’s for Men, a beloved local men’s clothing store remembered fondly by many in Ruston.
We’re so thankful to have Mr. Brown as part of our Russ Place family — a man whose life reflects honor, discipline, and kindness in every way.
