Mohs Micrographic Surgery is designed to remove certain skin cancers with precision while helping preserve as much healthy skin as possible.

This specialized technique allows the surgeon to examine tissue layer by layer during the procedure, helping ensure the cancer is fully removed before the area is repaired.

At Bayou Dermatology, we are proud to offer advanced dermatologic care for patients who need evaluation, treatment, or surgical management of skin cancer.

Sunscreen only works as well as it is applied. โ˜€๏ธ

One of the most common mistakes is simply not using enough. A light layer may feel like plenty, but it often does not provide the level of protection listed on the bottle.

Daily sunscreen use can help protect your skin from sun damage, premature aging, dark spots, and skin cancer risk over time. Make it part of your morning routine, and do not forget to reapply when you are outdoors.

If you have questions about sun protection or changes in your skin, Bayou Dermatology is here to help.

Congratulations to Emily Williams, LPN, our Employee of the Month! ๐ŸŽ‰

Emily is our Dermatology Nurse Biologic Coordinator, and she plays such an important role in helping patients get the treatments they need. She helps with everything from insurance approvals and prior authorizations to injection training, financial assistance, pharmacy communication, and patient education.

A lot of what Emily does happens behind the scenes, but it makes a big difference for our patients and our team every day.

We are so thankful for her hard work, her heart for patients, and the way she helps make the treatment process easier from start to finish.

Help us congratulate Emily! ๐Ÿ‘

Cryotherapy can be an effective way to treat certain suspicious or precancerous spots early.

This in-office treatment uses controlled freezing to destroy targeted skin cells and is commonly used for actinic keratoses and other benign lesions. For many patients, it is a fast and minimally invasive option that can help address concerning spots before they become a bigger problem.

Call (318) 265-6376 to schedule an appointment with Bayou Dermatology today if you have a spot that is concerning you.
