In the month of March, we are excited to celebrate and recognize these departments across our agency that make a big difference in our day-to-day functions and the lives of our patients.

To our social workers, your advocacy and empathy go above and beyond. They hold our grief groups and help our patients and their families through some of their darkest times, and are always there to lend an ear. They helped put together some of our remembrance ceremonies honoring loved ones who have passed away. Thank you for the impact you make every day!

To our Human Resources team, you’re the glue that holds our employees together and what gets them to stick to our agency! Whether it’s meeting one on one for open enrollment or finding and organizing with new employees to our customer service representatives who are always just one phone call away. Your dedication to improving the lives and wellbeing of everyone cannot go amiss!

To our Billing Department, gosh where would we be without you! The answer is nowhere! Your diligence and expertise ensure we can continue to care for and support our patients every day. You are essential to our agency, and we would be lost without you!

To our Nutritionist, your guidance and compassionate support help patients build healthier lives and improve overall well-being every day! You not only help our patients but our communities! You have gone above and beyond by joining our marketing team for events showing community members healthy snack options or hopping on PEG TV for a live cooking experience! You are so dedicated and passionate, and we are so lucky to have you as part of our agency!

Shout out to our very own Kelley Todriff, Phoebe Flemming, and Jamie Rosploch for joining the marketing team this snowy season. From snowshoes and Yaktrax demos, to painting with kids, to being inside PEG TV’s kitchen studio, we hope you will join us again to celebrate the winter season!

💬 Meet Joyce Humphrey — LTC Program Manager

Ask Joyce what she loves most about her job, and she won’t hesitate: it’s the people. “I enjoy meeting new individuals both internally and externally, from admissions to community partners,” she shares. Building relationships and staying connected with others is what makes her role so meaningful. For Joyce, it’s all about collaboration, communication, and the connections formed along the way.

Her journey into healthcare began in 1984 “out of necessity,” she says. She had no prior experience or exposure to the field. But it didn’t take long for her to realize she had found where she belonged. What started as a practical decision quickly turned into a lifelong commitment to a field she truly enjoys and feels passionate about.

When she’s not at work, Joyce loves tackling projects around her home. Whether she’s creating a new garden bed or putting in a stepping-stone walkway, she enjoys staying busy and bringing her ideas to life. When it’s time to unwind, you’ll likely find her watching a good drama series. She prefers compelling storylines over reality TV any day.

Here’s a fun fact you might not know: Joyce loves driving go-karts and has a special place in her heart for the oldies. A little speed paired with classic tunes? That sounds like a great time.

At home, she has a three-year-old Shih Tzu named Ziggy who is, by her own admission, extremely spoiled, and proudly so!

If she could have dinner with anyone famous, her choice is easy: Matthew McConaughey. “He’s just gorgeous,” she says with a smile and her genuine laugh.

One of the most unusual jobs she’s ever had? Taxi driver, and we know she became friends with everyone she drove around. Joyce just has that infectious and upbeat personality!

Above all, Joyce treasures time with her family. She has four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, and they are often busy doing activities together. “It brings me much joy,” she shares, and it’s clear that family is at the center of her heart.

Dedicated, warm, and relationship-driven, Joyce brings authenticity and experience to her role every day.

Stay tuned for the next leader we highlight!

We wanted to take a moment to shout out to our amazing choirs who bring heart and compassion to the bedside, touching the soul the way only music can.

We are so proud to have a choir of volunteers in each of our counties. In Rutland county, our Trillium Singers have made a difference in patients’ lives for decades. In Bennington county, the Serenity Singers not only sing in homes, but are highly requested at community concerts. Finally, in Franklin county, our HeartSing choir is starting to take off and is excited to welcome all new members.

Singing might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of volunteering, but joining a Hospice Choir can be a very rewarding and meaningful way to give back. Hospice Choirs offers songs of healing and comfort at the bedside of hospice patients as a loving gift to those who need support at their most vulnerable time.
