March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month! We hope you will join Community Care Network and the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities in celebrating the tremendous contributions that those with developmental disabilities make to our communities each and every day!

NACDD’s 2026 celebration reminds us that individuals with developmental disabilities are living full lives — working, building friendships, volunteering, parenting, and contributing to their communities. Same community. Same goals. Same future.

Thanks Imagination Library at Rutland Free Library!

We are staying true to our mission of donating returned Imagination Library books to local non-profit organizations. Most recently, Deb Quirk, Imagination Library at Rutland Free Library committee member, and also serves on the board of Community Care Network-Rutland Mental Health Services, dropped off extra books to Jordan Stevens, Outpatient Clinician with Child and Family Services at the Community Care Network-Rutland Mental Health Services.

Here is what Jordan had to say about the donation.

“We are so grateful for this donation of children’s books to our Child and Family Services program here at Rutland Mental Health! Developmentally appropriate books help strengthen parent–child connection, support early literacy, and provide families with simple opportunities to build routines around reading together. For many of the families we serve, these books also represent a way to foster emotional development, curiosity, and a sense of stability at home.”

'This work is about dignity and respect,' said Laura Kass, LICSW, Chief Client Services Officer. 'When someone reaches out for help, they deserve to be seen, heard, and supported right away.' " - VT Digger, Feb. 24, 2026

Community Care Network is pleased to share that it has added Perinatal Peer Support to its suite of peer services, a new program designed specifically to assist pregnant and postpartum parents experiencing mood or anxiety challenges.

"We’re excited to add Perinatal Peer Support to our suite of other peer support services. Research shows that one in five parents struggle with perinatal mood and anxiety concerns, yet many do so without adequate support. We believe that this new service will help to counter these trends locally and provide additional, essential support resources for pregnant and postpartum parents throughout the greater Rutland community.” - Katelyn Jax, CCBHC Peer Support Supervisor with Community Care Network

Congratulations to the 19 CCN employees honored recently at our annual Employee Service Recognition event!

“Community Care Network congratulates all of our staff members who this year hit various key service milestones. We are very proud of the significant, positive impact that each of these 19 staff members, along with their colleagues, make on the greater Rutland community, day-in and day-out. Despite a range of recent shifts across our fields of service, as well as ever-evolving community support needs, the commitment, professionalism and compassion of our employees remains unchanged, and for that we are incredibly thankful.” - Dick Courcelle, CCN Chief Executive Officer
