We had a great time at the Franklin County Chamber’s monthly mixer, this time hosted by Northwestern Medical Center. It was inspiring to hear from CEO Peter Wright, who talked about NMC being recognized as a leader in healthcare and the go-to hospital for community-based care. A hospital that truly values its people - both staff and patients - and immerses themselves in the communities it serves, reminding us how vital strong partnerships are between local businesses, organizations, and healthcare providers. We left feeling proud to be part of a community that supports one another and works together to make Franklin County a healthier, more connected place to live and work.

🎃 What a Spooktacular Halloween Season! 👻

Our team had a frightfully fun time celebrating Halloween across our region! From the Rutland Halloween Parade to the Wonderfeet, Coggins', The Gables', and Northwestern Medical Center Trunk or Treats, we loved joining in on the fun and connecting with families throughout the season.

A big thank-you to all the organizations and volunteers who put on these amazing events and brought our communities together. Your hard work made it a Halloween to remember!

Our team had a wonderful time connecting with community members and sharing valuable health resources. Events like these remind us how powerful community partnerships can be in supporting one another and promoting wellness across our communities.

We are thrilled to announce we have won Rutland Herald's Best of the Best awards in Home Care, and our own Karina Knapp won Best Nurse! This truly is a testament to the hard work of our dedicated staff and the strong relationships we've built with our patients, their families and caregivers, and the communities we serve. We are grateful for the trust placed in us and will continue to strive for excellence in every aspect of the services we offer at VNAHSR.

The St. Albans Rotary partnered with Northwestern Medical Center to establish a new annual fundraiser, the Rotary Cardiac Champ Challenge, to support of the expansion of cardiac care. The Rotary Cardiac Champ Challenge helped finance the first phase in expanding cardiac care services available in Franklin County, a cardiac reading station.

Last week, the check, just around $120k, was presented to Northwestern Medical Center at the Rotary’s annual reunion event. It was truly inspiring to hear how the teams partnered to drive donations, participation, sponsorships and more - and have an absolute blast despite the crazy weather!

VNAHSR was proud to support the challenge back in July, and we look forward to 2026’s event.

LiMei has truly impressed everyone with her ability to handle whatever comes her way. Despite taking on a full plate of unique and challenging cases, she approaches each one with calm, determination, and compassion—always ready to learn, lend support, and bring positivity to those around her. Balancing both hospice and home care social work, she continues to meet every patient’s needs without missing a beat. Families consistently describe her as “awesome,” sharing how her knowledge, empathy, and dedication have brought them relief and clarity during difficult times. LiMei is an incredible asset to our team, and we’re so grateful for all she does!

Tony consistently goes above and beyond to support his colleagues, always ready to lend a hand—no matter how busy he is. He frequently pauses his own work to assist with IT needs, responding quickly and patiently to every request. His reliability, kindness, and problem-solving skills make everyone feel supported and confident. Tony’s dedication and teamwork truly make him an invaluable part of our organization.

Do you live in Chittenden, Clarendon, Dorset, Highgate, Fairfield, Georgia, Ira or Mendon? We need your signature to be placed on the ballot for Town Meeting Day 2026! Without enough signatures we cannot be placed on the ballot for voters to have the opportunity to support our home health and hospice services.

When she’s not leading with enthusiasm and heart, you’ll find Marissa on the softball field or hockey rink—her favorite ways to unwind. A true team player both at work and at play!

📺 Favorite show: The Great British Bake Off — she loves the creativity, calm competition, and of course, the desserts!

🎬 Favorite movies for spooky season: classic horror, Pulp Fiction, The Princess Bride, Kill Bill, and Oklahoma! (Talk about range!)

🥁 Fun fact: Marissa plays the drums—her rhythm and energy shine through in her leadership style, too.
