Meet Leslie, one of Webster at Rye’s incredible Activities Assistants! Leslie has worked at Webster since March 2025. When we asked Leslie, “Why Webster?”, Leslie said, “What I like best about working at Webster is foremost the Residents! Although I have only worked here for 6 months, each day I feel blessed and honored to work with our residents whom I learn from daily. I have already developed so many special relationships as well as amazing history from our residents here. Webster allows me the opportunity to use my creativity in designing activities that enhance the lives of our residents. Numerous communities have strict corporate guidelines for their resident activities, leaving little to no room for creative activity planning, which I believe is a disservice to the diverse residents’ wants and needs. I am grateful to work for an employer that fosters innovation and creativity. I was drawn to work at Webster at Rye in part for its longstanding history as leader in Senior Healthcare, additionally to Webster’s extensive reputation as an employer that truly supports their staff professionally and above all personally. Many of our employees I have met and have been in contact with have worked here for upwards of 10 to 30 years, a rarity these days, especially in healthcare! This brings me comfort in my decision to accept the role of Activities Assistant.”

The votes are in and it is our absolute pleasure to recognize our September Star Staff Award recipient — Tammy C.!

Tammy works as a housekeeper here at our community, and as we all know, housekeeping in a nursing home and assisted living setting is not an easy task. It takes strength, energy, and tremendous dedication. But Tammy takes that hard work and turns it into something extraordinary. She goes above and beyond, taking such pride in her work down to every little detail. Tammy doesn’t just clean a room — she creates an environment that feels safe, welcoming, and like home for our residents.

Tammy takes her work personally, always putting residents and their needs first. Tammy’s warmth and care make residents feel comfortable and valued.

Her coworkers will tell you that Tammy is always ready to lend a hand — whether to a resident who needs support or a team member who needs help. Her professionalism, her organization, and her ability to juggle so many responsibilities with ease are simply outstanding.

One nominator wrote “Tammy goes above and beyond and she takes such pride in her work to every little detail. She takes it personally. She is always putting the residents and their needs first. She creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere making residents coming in feel comfortable. She is always ready to assist her coworkers and residents with care and professionalism. She has a good support team in the area she works in. Her attention to organization is outstanding. Tammy demonstrates a high level of knowledge and expertise in her role. She shows strong competency in all aspects of her work.”

Tammy, housekeeping is often the behind-the-scenes work that keeps this place running smoothly, but today we want to put you front and center — because your efforts are seen, felt, and deeply appreciated.

This is a very special "Why Webster?" post! Mary Jo, aka MJ, one of Webster at Rye's Unbelievable LNAs is retiring! MJ has worked at Webster at Rye since April 1992! For the past 33 years and 24 days, MJ has given the Residents so much love, quality of life, and the best individualized and unmatched care. MJ always has a smile on her face, and is known for her dedication, patience, integrity, compassion and expertise.

When we asked MJ, “Why Webster?” MJ said, “We have great Residents! The staffing at Webster at Rye is very nice as well! I have been comfortable here for 33 years. Webster at Rye has been my home away from home every day.”

Webster at Rye has been so fortunate to have MJ as a team member, and family member, for all of these amazing years! MJ, we love you and you will be so missed at Webster at Rye! Happy Retirement to you!
