Woodpecker Volunteer Fire Department

We are a 501(c)(3) public charity, serving the Tri-County Area of North Liberty, Hardin and Polk Counties. As a non-profit, our revenue comes from donations.

We serve the community as volunteer first responders and firefighters with a fully trained and certified volunteer corps. We also hold community functions during the year...We operate as fully volunteer fire department and welcome community and corporate donations of any size.

1 girl basket
Tickets $1 each.

Easter is right around the corner, with that being said the Woodpecker Volunteer Fire Department will be doing a easter basket give away. If anyone would like to donate anything for the baskets, please get with Ashley Delaney for donations. Tickets will be $1 a ticket. We are going to do 1 boy and 1 girl basket, if we do any more I will let yall know, or if yall have any suggestions please let me know.

There is a big burn going on 190 and 146 the winds are blowing our direction. So its not us we are not on fire if you see flames call 911, but that's where all the smoke is coming from

I have gotten several phone calls about the smoke, we are riding around checking things out, but as far as I know yall have nothing to worry about. I even got on the forestry site and looked, the only place I seen was on post oak road in Honey Island. I'll let yall know if things change or if youbsee something call 911 then call me. Thanks

We were donated a few lifevac devices rye Maverick's Legacy. So a few of our member have one in their personal vehicles and one the fire trucks. For those who don't know what the lifevac device is when someone is choking it helps remove what ever is stuck in your throat cause you to choke. Also, the game room ( old Shawns club) Ms. Kim will have one set up there, if they won't allow it, she will take it to Yours Mine N ours club (the bar) where they will have it there. If you would like to purchase one, below will be a flyer and there is a website you can go to that and get one, also enter code Woodpeckervfd and it will have you a 25-35% discount.

With as dry as it is fires are starting and spreading really fast. Please if you are burning, do not burn with the wind blowing. The smallest amber will spark up a fire quick. So please use caution when burning. We may go under a burn ban so when that happens the signs will be up and I will make a post on here. Thank you all for your continued support.

December 31, 2025 at 7pm, the Woodpecker Volunteer Fire Department will be doing a small fireworks show at the fire station, everyone come join us. It's blob, blocked, byof. This is a community event, no drugs on premises, also no fighting there will be kids at this event so if you fight you will be escorted off in a taxi. Yall be safe! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!

We are.putting on a fireworks show at the fire station, if anyone would like to donate, W.R. Boyd will be going tomorrow to get fireworks for the show. If you would like to donate please get with Ashley Delaney today with your donation so we can put on a great fireworks show for the community.

With that being said, it is byob, chair and whatever else you would like to bring. This will be a community event, so please be respectable and no BS.
