Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, Brian Carpenter, who is a valued member of our maintenance department! Brian shows compassion and dedication each and every day, and has exemplified the meaning of going above and beyond while the department’s manager is on medical leave.

A portion of the nomination submission read:
“For the last couple of months, Brian was the lone maintenance employee. After a medical absence of the manager, Brian stepped in to oversee the department without hesitation. In addition to stepping into the additional responsibilities, Brian took on training and overseeing two new hires into the department. He gave direction, answered questions, and has ensured their successful integration to the facility. In a role that is often difficult to provide solutions to everyone promptly, Brian has done an outstanding job of solving problems to keep everyone moving forward.”

A huge and heartfelt thanks to our Engagement Committee for organizing Loring Hospital’s 12 days of Christmas countdown that included so many fun activities and events over the past month!

The past few weeks have included fun “minute to win it” games, daily trivia, a holiday scavenger hunt, cookie decorating, a mobile hot chocolate bar, themed dress-up days, a “make your own simmer pot” activity, an ornament exchange, and more!

Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, Sharon Badertscher! Sharon serves as a valued member of our registration team and as a Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) counselor. She was nominated by a colleague for going the extra mile to help with the SHIIP program during open enrollment.

A portion of the nomination submission read: “Sharon has been phenomenal in stepping up to help with our SHIIP program, especially during the recent passing of my father. She has worked long hours with her current job along with the SHIIP program and has maintained a smile and positive attitude. Our SHIIP program means a lot to our patients and community, and because of Sharon’s willingness to step up we were able to meet the needs of many individuals seeking assistance with Medicare. She has been a huge asset to Loring Hospital and our SHIIP program.”
