Tuesday February 10, 2026, Tribal Recreation & Wellness held the Elder Chair Volleyball League Tournament. The Elder Chair Volleyball League began back in January. This league not only gives our elders a chance to socialize with other elders within the community but also helps keep them active while having fun! We appreciate each and everyone of you! Thank you to our volunteers for helping us make this possible!!

On January 31st, Tribal Recreation and Wellness hosted the 2026 All Indigenous Arizona Cardinals Flag Football Tournament in Gila River. The very first all indigenous flag football tournament in Indian Country.

This tournament featured teams from 6U all the way to 15U and showcased incredible talent from our Community!

Congratulations to everyone that participated and especially the teams winning their division!

Big Red from the Arizona Cardinals rolled up to the Arizona Cardinals Flag Tournament in true hero style — arriving on a fire truck 🚨🔥

And the best part?
The moment he stepped off… ALL the kids came running 🏃🏽‍♂️🏃🏽‍♀️❤️
High fives, hugs, photos, and pure joy everywhere 😍

Nominate your athlete(s) for our "Get out and
Play" campaign.

Record your athletes) playing the sports they love and submit to Tribal Recreation and Wellness. We will upload the video clips on our (TRW
Facebook Instagram) social media platforms and the Community can vote for their favorite athlete that week. One boy and one girl will be picked from each division to be chosen to be featured in professional videography.

Qualifications:
• Youth Athlete Ages: 6u, 8u, 10u, 12u, 15u, and high schoolMust be a GRIC Community Member or a child of a GRIC member and residing within the Community.
• Must be between the ages of 6-18 years old.
Video should a maximum of 30 second to 1-min long.
