Hi, I’m Andria Foydl, Doula and Founder of Mama Llama Doula Care
You are probably wondering who I am and why I could be a loving doula for you or someone close to you. Actually, I have often found myself wishing I had known about doulas before I had my children lying on my back in a hospital bed feeling alone and like I had no voice, no choice or alternatives to epidurals five times over. I am grateful for their healthy starts regardless and am proud of them, now all grown up and living their lives. Now that I know what experiencing choices in my birth plans could have meant for me and how a compassionate doula would have helped me, I am deeply grateful and blessed to extend the possibilities to you. I'll stand by you no matter what choices you make as your birth experience unfolds. I'll talk to you about options, pros and cons, so you can make your own decisions and advocate for your desires. I'll work tirelessly to bring you emotional and physical comfort as you labor and become a new woman as a result. I'll support your partner knowing they'll have their own hopes, questions and needs for comfort and reassurance, as well. I created Mama Llama Doula Care to offer the kind of steady, heart-centered support I wish every family had: the kind that says, “I’ve got you and you're ok”—especially when you feel like you're falling apart. Before moving to Sacramento in 2017, I lived in Eugene, Oregon where I worked as a DONA certified birth and postpartum doula, a trained ICEA childbirth educator, and a certified Parent Educator for the Happiest Baby on the Block. While living in Oregon, I also had the amazing opportunity to serve as the Executive Director for WellMama - Mental Support for Parents and Caregivers. I am currently a Volunteer Birth Doula at Mercy General and Methodist Hospitals in Sacramento, CA. Additionally, I am re-certifying as a birth and a postpartum doula serving families in Sacramento, Davis, and El Dorado Counties. You are preparing for birth, adjusting to life with a newborn, and/or navigating complex feelings around your experience. I'll bring a blend of practical care, emotional steadiness, and evidence-based guidance. I’ll walk with you and I'll hold space for it all with empathy and respect.
