This is the final episode of the series on Recorded Live on Friday, September 5th.
In the first three talks, I made the case for urgency and mapped leadership progression to other examples where development is ongoing โ even for experienced people.
Today, we bring it all together.
Hereโs the challenge: too many organizations leave leadership skills to chance. Perhaps they assume incentives will ensure leaders are proactive about their own development and that may be true but what about biases that are in conflict with your vision? Or with your Guiding Principles? Leaving it to chance can widen that gap of misalignment.
Many other fields donโt have this problem. Medicine, for example, defines universal skills so professionals can step into new roles seamlessly. The same with many trades.
Leadership can and should be approached the same way.
Thatโs where development plans come in.
In this episode, Iโll walk through a universal ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ท๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ ๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฝ ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ฒ to illustrate the power of having a common language and shared skillset when it comes to innovation and new initiatives.
