Meet McKyeea and Alivia !
Two incredible mamas whose hearts were full of hope and dreams. And today… their dream is in their arms 💗👶🏽✨ Sweet baby Mazhirah is finally here, and what a journey it’s been! 🥹💫

As your ultrasound tech, it was one of the greatest honors of my life to be part of this miracle. From your embryo transfer 💉, to watching that tiny flicker of a heartbeat 💓, to tracking baby girl grow week by week through the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester… every scan told a story of resilience, love, and pure magic. 🌈🫶

To witness Mazhirah’s growth from a little dot on the screen to the beautiful, thriving little princess she is today this is something I’ll never forget. And the bond I share with you both is one I’ll treasure forever. 💞👩🏽‍🍼👩🏾‍🍼

This patient came in with 10/10 pain—literally rolling in agony—and the culprit? A left kidney stone! 🚑💥 Stones may be small, but they can cause BIG problems. Let’s talk about the kidneys and why these painful little troublemakers form!

🦠 What do the kidneys do?
Your kidneys are two bean-shaped organs that work 24/7 to filter waste and extra fluids from your blood, keeping your body in perfect balance! 🫘💦 Here’s what they’re responsible for:
✔️ Filtering waste: Removing toxins, excess salt, and urea through urine 🚽
✔️ Balancing fluids & electrolytes: Keeping sodium, potassium, and calcium in check 🧂⚡
✔️ Regulating blood pressure: Producing hormones to control BP ❤️💊
✔️ Making red blood cells: Through the hormone erythropoietin 🩸💪
✔️ Activating vitamin D: Helping your body absorb calcium for strong bones ☀️🦴

⚠️ How do kidney stones form?
When urine gets too concentrated, minerals and salts crystallize, forming these sharp little rock-like structures. 🪨😖 Risk factors include:
🚱 Not drinking enough water – Dehydration makes urine more concentrated!
🧂 High salt intake – Too much sodium leads to excess calcium in urine.
🥩 Too much animal protein – Meat and dairy increase stone-forming compounds.
🍋 Lack of citrate – Found in citrus fruits, citrate helps prevent stone formation.
🧬 Genetics – If kidney stones run in your family, you’re more likely to get them.

💡 How to prevent kidney stones?
✅ Hydrate! Drink at least 2-3 liters of water per day. 💦🚰
✅ Limit salt & animal protein – Cut back on processed foods and red meat! 🍔🚫
✅ Eat more citrus fruits – Lemons, oranges, and limes help! 🍋🍊
✅ Stay active – Exercise improves metabolism and kidney function! 🏃‍♀️💨

"Aww, we had a super sassy princess today in the ultrasound room! 👑👶💖 At 34 weeks & 3 days, this little cutie was feeling all the feels! From the moment we started, she was NOT having it 😂—giving us some serious grumpy faces 😠 the whole way through! But just as we were wrapping up... guess what? SHE SMILED! 😍✨ And oh my gosh, that sweet grin melted our hearts instantly! 🌸💕 It’s moments like these that make being an ultrasound tech so much fun!

I love capturing all the precious moments (and the moody ones too 😂) during these 3D/4D ultrasounds! Seeing these little personalities come through is such a joy 🥰.
