💙 Honoring RJ on His 30th Birthday 🎂✨

Tuesday, July 22nd would have been my beloved son RJ’s 30th birthday. It’s been nine years since he transitioned, and not a day goes by without thinking of him.

My husband Paul and I took a little drive up to Placerville—a peaceful escape to celebrate RJ in our own quiet way. We had lunch, and finished with a slice of apple pie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A simple, sweet tribute to a boy who brought so much light into our lives.

Later that evening, I went to the State Fair with my friend Rebekah and her son Max. We found a peaceful spot near the silent disco—something soothing for Max, who is on the spectrum. We sat down on a blanket to rest. I looked up—and there it was.

“R+J ❤️”

RJ’s name, shining on the wall with a heart for love.

It stopped me. A sacred sign from beyond. A whisper from my son reminding me:

“I’m still here, Mom.”
