✨The Massage Table✨

Did you know that the apparatus used to lie on during a western massage is referred to as a table, not as a bed? A subtle, but important distinction.

Another important distinction to make when referring to a bodyworker is in the terms masseuse or masseur and Massage Therapist. The difference is in the time spent formally studying bodywork. A masseuse or masseur is a very casual term referring to someone who provides touch for payment. To be certified as a Massage Therapist in California, one must complete 500 hours of formal training. At The National Holistic Institute I completed the 900+ hour program, which qualifies me as both a Massage Therapist and a Health Educator. It is the latter of my title that I wish to emphasize here. 💫

✨Holding Space✨

What does this phrase mean to you? It is my favorite phrase to describe the act of giving bodywork. I heard it first at The National Holistic Institute, the massage school I attended and graduated from March 21, 2013. 💆‍♂️ Sacramento is holding space now, along with the entire planet, in hopes to minimize the effects of the novel coronavirus. Many in our community, including myself, are sheltering at home and adapting to the social-distancing mandates with alternative lifestyle approaches. I invite everyone to hold space with me here as I seek to share and encourage the lifestyle that first inspired me and also continues to inform the essence of my work. 💫

Hello, welcome to the page for my business. I am a Certified Massage Therapist and Health Educator, providing integrative massage with a focus on chronic pain management, mobility restoration, relaxation and pregnancy health. I am located Midtown/ Downtown Sacramento at 2115 J Street. Currently, California is under formal order to shelter-at-home.
