Is a tummy tuck a weight loss surgery?
Short answer: no.

A tummy tuck is designed to remove excess skin, tighten the abdominal muscles, and improve overall contour, not serve as a primary method for weight loss.

For best results, patients are typically encouraged to be at or near their goal weight prior to surgery. That said, there are patients who are healthy, doing all the right things, and still struggling with stubborn excess fullness or tissue that doesn’t respond to diet and exercise.

This transformation had a very clear goal: improve her abdomen and create a more visible waistline.

She had previously undergone liposuction, but still struggled with loose skin and abdominal laxity over the years. To address this, we performed an extended abdominoplasty with 360° liposuction. The procedure removed excess skin, repaired the abdominal wall, and sculpted the flanks and waist circumferentially to restore contour and proportion.
