Young Person's Sangha, Sacramento Insight Meditation Young Person’s Sangha (YPS) is a space for those seeking to practice meditation, foster friendship The community is made up of people in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

Give yourself a break from constant over-stimulation and make time for inner calm, spaciousness, and presence. The Young Persons Sangha (YPS) is a group sponsored by the Sacramento Insight Meditation group in Sacramento, CA. The YPS offers an opportunity to build a meaningful community with other people who care about and practice mindfulness. A sangha is a community of people who practice meditation and study Buddhism. Being part of a sangha is considered to be an essential part of a successful meditation practice. Beyond Tuesday nights, members of the group often meet for social activities, volunteering, and occasional retreats. Our meeting schedule is as follows:

1st, 3rd (and sometimes 5th) Tuesdays of the month: 7-8 pm - meditation and discussion.

2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month: 7-9 pm - these are larger meetings consisting of a meditation session that is usually 30-45 minutes in duration, followed by a dharma talk given by a teacher or peer, and then a discussion.

It's been a while since we posted any events on here, but Young Person's Sangha, Sacramento has kept on goin and will keep on goin through 2022!!

Here are some announcements: We have a new meeting schedule and a new format. We still meet on Tuesdays, but only on the first, second, and fourth Tuesdays of the month. The first we meet online for a meditation session and check in followed by an open planning session for whoever wants to get involved. On the second and fourth Tuesdays we have a hybrid in person and online session, with the second including a guest teacher and the fourth a peer leader.
