Your Comprehensive Cancer Center Outreach and Engagement team is here to remind you that March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month 💙

❓What is colorectal cancer?
Colorectal cancer starts in the colon (large intestine) or re**um and often begins as small growths called polyps that can develop into cancer over time.

❓ Who should be screened?
The United States Preventive Services Task Force recommends that adults ages 45–75 get screened regularly for colorectal cancer.

❓ Why is screening important?
Screening can find colorectal cancer early—before symptoms appear—when it’s most treatable. It can also detect precancerous polyps so they can be removed before turning into cancer.

❓ What should I do if I haven’t been screened?
Talk with your health care provider about which screening option is right for you. Many people can start with a simple at-home test, depending on their risk.
