Hattie McDaniel was a trailblazing African-American actress and singer, best known for her groundbreaking role as Mammy in "Gone with the Wind" (1939). If you’re over the age of 18, you’ve probably been told to get routine mammograms so that you can catch potential health issues early. When it comes to breast cancer, many of us assume that a mammogram and a self-exam are all we need to worry about. However this one-size-fits-all approach isn’t really enough for us. For people with a high lifetime risk it is recommended that in addition to the mammogram, they also have a breast MRI, with the scans being six months apart.

Do you know your risk? Talk to your doctor and make sure that you’re getting the care that suits your unique needs!
