“If we establish a joyous attitude of seeing ourselves as souls — having faith in our spiritual potential and our innate goodness,” Sri Daya Mata, beloved third president of SRF/YSS, explains in a new blog post, then we can manifest more of our higher Self and approach our circumstances from the perspective of our limitless nature.

“God’s song is the song of calmness. Nervousness is the static; calmness is the voice of God speaking to you through the radio of your soul.” — Paramahansa Yogananda

On this day in 1895, Lahiri Mahasaya entered mahasamadhi, a Self-realized yogi’s final conscious exit from the body.
Lahiri Mahasaya is revered as a Yogavatar, an incarnation of Yoga, exemplifying the highest ideal of Yoga — blissful union of one’s individual consciousness with God’s cosmic consciousness. He was the first to teach Kriya Yoga in contemporary times, and his blessed life has been chronicled for the ages in Paramahansa Yogananda’s “Autobiography of a Yogi.”
Yogananda wrote: “As the fragrance of flowers cannot be suppressed, so Lahiri Mahasaya, quietly living as an ideal householder, could not hide his innate glory. Devotee-bees from every part of India began to seek the divine nectar of the liberated master....The harmoniously balanced life of the great householder-guru became the inspiration of thousands of men and women.”

“The millions who are encumbered by family ties and heavy worldly duties will take new heart from you, a householder like themselves…A sweet new breath of divine hope will pe*****te the arid hearts of worldly men. From your balanced life, they will understand that liberation is dependent on inner, rather than outer, renunciations.”
- Mahavatar Babaji speaking to Lahiri Mahasaya

“Peace (shanti) is a divine quality…One united to “the peace of God, which passeth all understanding” is like a lovely rose, spreading around him the fragrance of tranquility and harmony.”
